What is Throne and Liberty?
Throne and Liberty is a free-to-play MMORPG set in the persistent world of Solisium. Amazon Games’ launch description emphasizes guild-focused activities, large-scale player-versus-player battles, co-op dungeons, open-world bosses, dynamic events, fishing, and cooking. These are publisher descriptions of the game’s features, not independent findings about how well each system plays.

Rather than choosing a fixed class, players equip two weapons and can switch between them. The Weapon Combination System lets a character’s combat style change with the selected weapon pairing. Creatures also serve as a means of movement: transformations enable gliding, dashing, and swimming.
What does the Nix expansion add?
The Frozen Divide: Nix arrived on June 25, 2026. Its new frozen region brings additional traversal systems, Gauntlets, two co-op dungeons, progression toward level 60, new equipment, and an itemization overhaul. The official reveal also described an Item Level system and Skill Cores.

Combat and progression are still subject to updates. For example, the October 7, 2026 patch notes include Trait Resonance changes and adjustments to numerous weapon skills. Treat specific build or balance advice as patch-dependent and consult current notes before relying on it.
What platforms is Throne and Liberty on?
At launch, the publisher listed PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Amazon Games described the game as supporting cross-platform play across those platforms.
What happens to Western accounts when Amazon hands the game to NC?
In an October 8, 2026 notice, Amazon Game Studios said Western live operations are planned to transfer to NC on November 10, 2026. The transition requires maintenance that will temporarily make the game unavailable; its duration had not yet been announced in that notice. Because dates and migration instructions can change, check the official transition notice for the latest details.
The notice sets out these dates and account implications:
- October 26, 2026: The Auction House and the specified cash products—Celebration Packs, Character Boost, and Lucent packs—are scheduled to be suspended.
- October 30, 2026: This is the stated deadline to opt out of data transfer. The official Amazon Game Studios FAQ says, “No action is required for your data to be transferred unless you choose to opt out.” If you do nothing, your game data is scheduled to transfer.
- After the transfer: Continuing to play requires accepting NC’s terms and policies. Xbox players are expected to install NC’s new app.
The notice says Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox cross-play will continue. Cross-progression is supported between Steam and NC’s PURPLE platform; PlayStation and Xbox progression remains independent.

The game is described as free to play. An official business-model overview dated July 16, 2024 said Lucent could be purchased or earned through selected PvP and Auction House activity, and that the Auction House uses Lucent. It also described optional leveling and battle passes and cosmetic store items. That overview was an early explanation which warned that specifics could change, so it does not establish October 2026 prices, current shop contents, or post-transfer store conditions.
How should you judge the game as a prospective player?
The game’s announced design is most relevant if you are looking for a social MMORPG with guild activities and large-scale PvP alongside dungeons, bosses, and events. The two-weapon system offers a different approach to combat loadouts than choosing a fixed class, while creature transformations and Nix’s traversal systems support exploration. These are useful points of comparison with other MMORPGs, but they do not establish that the game is better than any particular alternative.

One historical number should not be mistaken for a measure of the current community: NCSOFT reported more than 60,000 concurrent players on the first day of the July 2024 open beta in an August 19, 2024 announcement. That is a beta figure, not a current player count.
