Yes. Yujiro Hanma is officially coming to TEKKEN 8. Bandai Namco has announced him as the fourth additional playable character in Season 3. He has not been released yet, and the currently confirmed launch window is January through March 2027.
The announcement is not a fan edit or an unverified rumor: Bandai Namco showed in-game footage at its EVO France announcement and published an official teaser. The remaining questions concern the exact release day, price and package—not whether Yujiro is part of the game’s planned roster.

What Bandai Namco has confirmed
Bandai Namco’s EVO France announcement identified Yujiro Hanma as a playable addition to TEKKEN 8 and showed his in-game appearance. The company also said a gameplay trailer is scheduled for the TEKKEN World Tour Finals on January 17, 2027. That is stronger evidence than a casting rumor, a datamined file or a social-media mock-up: the publisher has publicly presented the character as part of its official content plan.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s official teaser uses the wording: “Yujiro Hanma joins the #TEKKEN8 roster as the 4th additional playable character in early 2027.” The official TEKKEN 8 website narrows “early 2027” to a January–March 2027 window.

|---|---|
| Is the announcement genuine? | Yes. It came through Bandai Namco’s official announcement and teaser channels. |
| What is Yujiro’s roster status? | He is the fourth additional playable character announced for Season 3. |
| What is the current release window? | January–March 2027. |
| Is there an official gameplay video yet? | A gameplay trailer is scheduled for January 17, 2027, at the TEKKEN World Tour Finals. |
| Is he already available? | Not according to the announcements available as of October 19, 2026. |
Yujiro is the central fighter from the Baki property, so this is an official cross-franchise guest-character addition rather than a new fighter created solely for the TEKKEN universe. The announcement establishes his identity and playable status; it does not yet reveal his complete move list, balance values, story treatment or special gameplay systems.
When is Yujiro Hanma coming to TEKKEN 8?
The most precise public timing is the first quarter of 2027. “Early 2027” is the wording in the teaser, while the official game website labels his slot “Jan-Mar 2027.” No final calendar day has been announced in the available material.
| Milestone | Date or status | What it tells players |
|---|---|---|
| Official character announcement | Announced by Bandai Namco at EVO France in 2026 | Confirms Yujiro is an official planned playable character. |
| Gameplay trailer | Scheduled for January 17, 2027 | Expected official presentation of gameplay footage; the announcement does not promise that the character launches on that day. |
| Release window | January–March 2027 | Defines the current quarter in which the character is planned to become available. |
| Status on October 19, 2026 | Announced, not documented as released | Players should not treat teaser footage as proof that the character can already be selected in-game. |
The January 17 trailer date and the January–March release window are separate pieces of information. A gameplay presentation can arrive before the downloadable character, on the same day, or alongside a later store listing. Until Bandai Namco publishes a launch-day notice, the quarter is the reliable limit of the schedule.

In practical terms, yes: he is a post-launch roster addition rather than one of the fighters in the original launch lineup. Bandai Namco calls him an “additional playable character” for Season 3, which places him in the game’s continuing character-release program.

That announcement does not establish how he will be sold. The sources currently available do not state:
- the standalone price for Yujiro;
- whether he will be included in a particular Season 3 pass tier;
- whether a pass will provide early access;
- whether a separate bundle will include other Season 3 content; or
- whether pricing will differ by region or platform.
Do not assume that owning the base game automatically grants the character, and do not assume that every Season 3 product includes identical entitlements. Those are store-policy questions that require a later Bandai Namco or platform-store listing.
Can you play Yujiro in TEKKEN 8 yet?
Not on the evidence available as of October 19, 2026. The official material documents an announcement, teaser footage and a future gameplay-trailer date; it does not document a completed release. If Yujiro does not appear in your character-select screen now, that is consistent with the published schedule rather than evidence that the announcement was fake.
Teaser footage also should not be confused with a playable trial. A video can show an approved in-game model and animation work while the character is still undergoing final development, testing, ratings review, platform certification or release packaging. Only a launch announcement, an official store entry or an in-game availability notice can establish that he has actually shipped.

Which platforms will support Yujiro?
TEKKEN 8 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. Those are the platforms identified in the official game information, so they are the platforms relevant to Yujiro’s announced addition.
| Platform | What is established | What still needs confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | TEKKEN 8 is available on the platform. | Yujiro’s final store price, release timestamp and bundle entitlements. |
| Xbox Series X|S | TEKKEN 8 is available on the platform. | Yujiro’s final store price, release timestamp and bundle entitlements. |
| PC via Steam | TEKKEN 8 is available through Steam. | Yujiro’s final store price, release timestamp and bundle entitlements. |
The announcement does not add a separate last-generation version, mobile edition or cloud-only version. It also does not specify regional release times, cross-platform purchase rules or whether any platform will receive the character earlier than another.
How to distinguish the official announcement from fan-made material
Yujiro has been a popular subject for wish lists and fan concepts, so source checking matters. Use the following checks when a new clip or screenshot appears:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Check the publisher. The reliable announcement comes from Bandai Namco’s official channels, not an unaffiliated account repeating a rumor.
- Look for the exact roster description. The official wording identifies Yujiro as the fourth additional playable character in Season 3.
- Verify the schedule. The published timing is early 2027, with the official website specifying January–March 2027.
- Separate teaser and gameplay footage. The announced gameplay trailer is scheduled for January 17, 2027; an earlier fan animation cannot substitute for it.
- Wait for a store listing before paying. A thumbnail, preorder page or social post should not be treated as proof of price or pass inclusion unless it comes from the relevant publisher or platform storefront.
These checks are especially useful for videos that combine real TEKKEN 8 assets with fan-edited character models, speculative move lists or invented release dates. Official confirmation covers Yujiro’s identity and planned roster position; it does not validate every claim attached to a clip.

What the crossover means—and what it does not reveal
Yujiro’s inclusion makes him a guest fighter from Baki, with the character’s established identity carried into a fighting game built around the TEKKEN roster. That gives players a clear explanation for why his design and name may look different from original TEKKEN characters.
It does not, by itself, answer gameplay questions. The announcement does not state his archetype, command list, rage-art presentation, story interactions, customization items, frame data or balance placement. Those details should be taken from the scheduled gameplay presentation or later official documentation rather than inferred from his reputation in Baki.

- Confirm your version. Make sure you own TEKKEN 8 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or Steam.
- Keep the game updated. Character additions normally require a current game build, so leave enough storage and download time for a future update.
- Follow the January 17, 2027 presentation. The scheduled gameplay trailer is the next official opportunity to see how Yujiro functions in a match.
- Check the platform store after pricing is announced. Compare the standalone character listing with any Season 3 pass description instead of assuming the cheaper-looking item has the same access rights.
- Read the access language carefully. If Bandai Namco later offers early access, the store page should state its start time and which edition qualifies.
- Install the release update before troubleshooting. If Yujiro is missing after launch, first verify that the game finished downloading its update and that the account owns the correct product.
This approach avoids the two common mistakes: buying a pass before its contents are defined, and treating a trailer date as the character’s guaranteed launch date.

What remains unknown
Several practical details are deliberately still open:
- the exact day within January–March 2027;
- the standalone DLC price;
- the price and contents of any Season 3 pass;
- any early-access period;
- regional storefront timing;
- Yujiro’s complete gameplay kit and balance details; and
- his story, customization and other optional content.
These gaps do not weaken the core confirmation. They simply mark the boundary between what Bandai Namco has announced and what must wait for the gameplay trailer, a release notice or an official store page.
The answer in one sentence
Yujiro Hanma is genuinely coming to TEKKEN 8 as Season 3’s fourth additional playable character, with an official January–March 2027 release window; as of October 19, 2026, he remains announced but unreleased, and his exact price and package are still unconfirmed.
