Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The most reliable Jujutsu Shenanigans setup is not a magic damage preset: keep frequently used inputs reachable, use camera alignment that makes movement predictable, learn how the fourth M1 changes with your vertical movement, and reduce visual effects only when your device cannot hold a stable frame rate. Start with the official controls, then make small platform-specific changes and test each one in a quiet server.
Start with the current controls
The official Roblox game description lists the baseline PC controls: left mouse button (M1) for the melee combo, 1 through 4 for skills, Q for dash, F for block, R for special, W plus W for sprint, and G for awakening. Q can also be used while stunned to escape when the move is available. These are the controls to verify first after an update, because contextual prompts and bindings can change.

| Action | PC baseline | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Basic attack | Left mouse button (M1) | The live combat prompt and any move-specific behavior |
| Skills | 1, 2, 3, 4 | Whether a character, passive or item changes a skill’s context |
| Dash | Q | Cooldown and whether you are stunned or otherwise restricted |
| Block | F | Direction, timing and move-specific exceptions |
| Special | R | The current character’s special requirement |
| Sprint | W+W | Whether Auto Run is enabled in your settings |
| Awakening | G | Your current awakening meter and any character requirement |
The mechanics reference describes the same PC mapping and notes that keybinds can be changed through settings. On mobile, the equivalent actions appear as on-screen buttons. PlayStation and Xbox use their respective controller mappings. Treat the live in-game prompt as authoritative if an older screenshot or guide disagrees.

A good layout lets you attack, block, dash and activate a skill without releasing movement or losing camera control. There is no universal “best” binding: hand size, mouse shape, keyboard language, controller preference and the character you play all matter.

PC: test the default row before remapping
Play several minutes with M1, 1–4, Q, F, R and G in their default positions. If you can press the skill row while holding movement and keeping your camera steady, leave it alone. Familiarity is valuable, and unnecessary remapping creates a second learning curve.
If reaching 1–4 makes you lift your movement hand or produces missed activations, move those skills to a gaming mouse with programmable side buttons or another reachable set of keys. Map the four skills in a consistent order rather than assigning them by how often you currently use them; consistency makes switching characters less confusing. Test each button in a low-pressure server before a real fight, and check that the mouse software does not send a repeated input when you intended one press.
Shift Lock: use the camera as a directional reference
Enable Shift Lock when it makes your movement more predictable. The mechanics reference says Shift Lock forces the character to face the camera direction and recommends it for smoother running, wall-climbing and dashing. This is particularly useful when you need a side or back dash and want the camera to remain your steering reference. If Shift Lock makes close-range tracking harder on your screen, turn it off temporarily and compare both modes around walls and obstacles rather than assuming one is superior.

Auto Run and Auto Use are optional experiments
A community settings guide recommends Auto Run and Auto Use. Auto Run can remove the need to double-tap W; Auto Use is intended to activate a move immediately when its key is pressed. Neither recommendation is an official guarantee of faster combos. Keep each option only if it behaves reliably on your platform. Disable Auto Use if it causes accidental activations, consumes a move when you meant to reposition, or makes a held-input situation harder to control.

Mobile setup: edit the layout around your grip
Mobile players use on-screen attack, skill, block, dash and other controls. The mechanics reference says the layout can be changed and provides Lock Layout and Reset Layout functions. Start by moving high-frequency buttons away from the camera area so a thumb movement cannot both rotate the view and press an attack.
- Open the control-layout editor and identify attack, block, dash, jump and the four skills.
- Place attack and block far enough apart that a normal thumb sweep cannot press both.
- Keep dash and jump reachable without covering the camera or the skill cluster.
- Use Lock Layout after arranging the buttons so they do not drift during play.
- Enter a quiet server and test M1, block, dash, jump and every skill while moving the camera.
- Use Reset Layout if the arrangement becomes confusing, then make one change at a time.
There is no factual universal mobile layout. Screen size, aspect ratio, touch sensitivity and whether you use one or two thumbs change the best positions. A layout that works on a large tablet can cause missed presses on a phone, so judge it by repeatable inputs rather than by a screenshot.
Console setup: prioritize camera and target control
The mechanics reference documents PlayStation and Xbox mappings for attack, block, skills, special, dash, jump, awakening and zoom, along with console lock-on. Because the exact button prompts are platform-specific and can change, use the current prompts shown in your game instead of copying an old controller diagram.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteConsole lock-on keeps a target selected and can let the camera follow that target. Some abilities temporarily disable camera follow, so lock-on is an aid rather than a guarantee that the opponent will remain centered. Compare two setups in a quiet area: one with lock-on for target tracking and one without it for free camera control. Keep the mode that lets you see incoming attacks while still reaching dash, block and skills comfortably.

Understand the four-hit M1 chain before adding a combo route
M1 is not simply button mashing. The community-maintained Jujutsu Shenanigans Wiki archive describes a chain of up to four hits totaling 14 damage, broken down as 3 + 3 + 4 + 4, followed by about two seconds of downtime. It also documents approximately 0.75 seconds of stun on a landed M1 and roughly one stud of attacker pull. These are version-sensitive community figures, not an unconditional promise for every character: passives and items can alter basic-attack properties.
The fourth hit changes with vertical movement
- Neutral fourth M1: with no relevant upward or downward movement, the hit knocks the opponent backward and has the shortest ragdoll time among the listed variants.
- Uppercut: performing the fourth hit while moving upward launches the opponent, producing longer airtime and ragdoll duration.
- Downslam: performing the fourth hit while descending after a jump creates a ground-oriented hit. The reference describes it as unblockable and able to bypass ragdoll.
Learn to choose the fourth hit deliberately. Use neutral when pushing someone away is useful, uppercut when you need airtime for a follow-up, and downslam when the descending condition is reliable and you need the documented ground interaction. Do not assume that every character or item preserves identical timing windows.
A practical practice routine for consistent inputs
- Confirm the live mapping. Check the platform prompts, then remap only inputs that are genuinely difficult to reach. This avoids learning a layout that an update has already changed.
- Drill four M1s alone. Repeat the chain without skills until you can stop after the third hit or complete the fourth hit without losing camera control.
- Separate the three fourth-hit conditions. Practice neutral, upward-moving uppercut and descending downslam attempts in separate sets. Watch the opponent’s launch and ragdoll response rather than relying only on your own animation.
- Add one short character route. Check each move’s contextual tooltip, such as TARGET, RAGDOLL, HIT or HOLD, before building a longer sequence. A tooltip can reveal that a move needs a target, a particular state or a held input.
- Practice dash directions independently. The mechanics reference documents different behavior and cooldowns for front, side and back dashes. Drill each direction so a defensive escape is not confused with a forward approach.
- Test camera alignment. Enable Shift Lock if it improves your directional control, then run around walls, climb and dash around an obstacle. Keep it enabled only if your tracking improves.
- Rehearse under mild pressure. Fight in a quiet server against a willing player or predictable target, adding only one skill at a time. This exposes accidental Auto Use activations and camera drift before a crowded match.
The same community reference documents an awakening meter figure of approximately 286 damage, written as 2000/7, for the documented system. Treat that number as version-sensitive and character-dependent; use the live meter rather than planning a round around an old estimate.
Performance settings: trade visual effects for stable frames only when necessary
There is no single best performance preset for every device. A powerful PC may keep effects enabled for visual feedback, while a phone or older console may need a simpler scene. Use the in-game See FPS option to observe drops during a crowded, destruction-heavy fight, not just while standing in an empty server.

| Setting or action | When to try it | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Shadows: disable | Frame rate drops or the scene becomes hard to read | Less depth and atmosphere, but fewer shadows competing with combat silhouettes |
| Destruction VFX: disable | Walls or objects breaking cause stutter | Less destruction feedback and visual spectacle |
| Ragdoll SFX: disable | Sound clutter masks useful cues or coincides with slowdowns | Fewer audio signals about ragdoll events |
| Physics VFX: disable | Particle-heavy fights overload weaker hardware | Reduced impact and physics feedback |
| Destruction Interpolation: disable | Destruction movement is associated with frame drops | Breaking objects may look less smooth |
| Destruction Smoke: disable | Smoke effects obscure opponents or coincide with drops | Less environmental atmosphere and cover visualisation |
Change one option at a time, then repeat the same type of fight and watch FPS. Keep the highest-visibility configuration that remains stable. Lower effects can improve clarity as well as reduce workload, but they can also remove cues you personally use to judge a hit or a collapsing wall. A setting is useful only if the resulting frame pacing and information are better for your device.
Audio is an awareness choice, not a measured advantage
The settings guide recommends lowering music while keeping useful effects audible. This can make hit, dash or environmental cues easier to hear when music masks them. No controlled test establishes a universal competitive gain, so adjust music and effects to your hearing, speakers or headset and verify that important cues remain distinct.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What controls and settings cannot change
Changing bindings, Shift Lock, Auto Run, Auto Use or visual effects does not increase damage numbers, hitbox size or character statistics. The benefit is practical: easier access to inputs, a more readable camera, clearer audio and steadier performance. Damage still depends on timing, spacing, matchup knowledge, move properties and practice. A remapped skill that is easier to press can improve consistency, but it does not turn that skill into a stronger move.
Troubleshoot by symptom instead of copying a preset
You miss skills while moving
Return to the default 1–4 row for a short test. If the misses disappear when you stop moving, remap the skills to reachable keys or mouse side buttons and verify that movement remains held. Confirm that each remapped key activates the intended skill once.

Your character turns unpredictably during dashes
Compare Shift Lock on and off around a fixed obstacle. Shift Lock should align facing with the camera; if that alignment helps, keep it enabled and practice camera-led movement. If it makes your view harder to manage, use free camera control and reduce unnecessary sensitivity changes.
Auto Use triggers the wrong move
Disable Auto Use and test the same route with manual activation. If manual input is reliable, leave the option off; immediate activation is not worth accidental consumption or a lost defensive response.
Fights stutter when buildings break
Enable See FPS, reproduce the drop in a destruction-heavy fight, and disable Destruction Interpolation or Destruction Smoke first. If the problem remains, test Destruction VFX, Physics VFX, Shadows and Ragdoll SFX one at a time. Stop when frame pacing is stable and visibility is still acceptable.

You lose track of a target on console
Test console lock-on, then check a fight in free camera mode. Lock-on can keep a target selected and may follow them, but some abilities interrupt camera follow. Use the mode that preserves awareness of both the target and incoming attacks.
Keep the setup current
Controls, setting names, character mechanics and item interactions are version-sensitive. Recheck the official Roblox listing and the live in-game prompts after major updates, and treat community-maintained mechanics figures as documentation of a particular version rather than permanent rules. A stable setup is one you can reach, see and hear consistently on your own platform; it is not a universal formula for more damage.
