Kai Cenat was Twitch’s most-watched creator in StreamElements’ 2023 year-end account, with 109 million hours watched. League of Legends led its game chart, while Diablo IV had the year’s biggest new-game launch on Twitch, drawing 70 million hours watched during launch week. These figures describe different chart categories and periods, so they should not be read as one directly comparable ranking.
Kai Cenat topped Twitch’s creator chart
StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg reported that Kai Cenat accumulated 109 million hours watched in 2023, making him the platform’s most-watched creator in their year-end account. His February subathon contributed more than 43 million hours watched, but it was only part of his annual total.
StreamElements cofounder Or Perry described Cenat as breaking xQc’s three-year streak as most-watched streamer. Perry also noted ironmouse’s run as the top female streamer and Diablo IV’s performance among new-game debuts. The remarks appeared in GamesBeat’s coverage of the year-end report.
League of Legends led the year-end game chart
In StreamElements’ account, League of Legends was Twitch’s most popular game for 2023. The report linked 248 million hours watched across October and November to the game’s 2023 World Championship. That two-month figure is event-period context, not the game’s full-year total.

Diablo IV had the biggest Twitch game launch
StreamElements reported that Diablo IV drew 70 million hours watched on Twitch during its launch week, giving it the year’s strongest new-game launch in that report. This is a launch-week measure, not a full-year game total.
Why other 2023 charts show different numbers
Hours-watched totals vary with the period, platform coverage, chart category and analytics provider. A creator’s annual total is not the same measure as a game’s annual total; a launch-week result is not a quarter or year; and a new-release ranking is not an all-games ranking.

Stream Hatchet’s Q2 2023 Live Streaming Trends report explicitly combines Twitch, YouTube Gaming and Facebook Live for its game leaderboard. It says League of Legends returned to the top for a second consecutive quarter, while Diablo IV placed sixth overall in Q2. Its 164 million first-month figure is a separate cross-platform measure of the game’s new-release performance.
SullyGnome’s 2023 statistics page for League of Legends displays 436.8 million hours watched, and its Diablo IV page displays 151.8 million additional hours for the trending game. Those provider figures should not be merged with StreamElements’ or Stream Hatchet’s totals to create a single ranking: the figures come from different publishers and reporting presentations.

- Creator versus game: Kai Cenat’s 109 million is a creator total; the game figures measure viewership associated with titles.
- Period: Full-year, quarter, launch-week and first-month figures describe different windows.
- Platform: StreamElements’ cited creator and launch claims concern Twitch; Stream Hatchet’s Q2 leaderboard and first-month release figure aggregate multiple live-streaming platforms.
- Ranking class: A game’s position among new releases is distinct from its place among all games.
