The 60-second answer
Do not download kbdinbe2.dll from a DLL mirror or copy it into an application folder. Restore the keyboard layout through Windows first:

- Open Start > Settings > Time & language > Language & region.
- Find Bengali (India), or another language entry containing the keyboard.
- Select … > Language options.
- Under Keyboards, remove the damaged or duplicate Bangla – INSCRIPT or Bengali – INSCRIPT entry.
- Select Add a keyboard, then add Bangla – INSCRIPT again.
- Restart Windows and test with Windows key + Spacebar.
If the error remains, repair Windows with DISM and SFC. These steps restore the official component and its registration instead of replacing one isolated file.
What is kbdinbe2.dll
Microsoft identifies kbdinbe2.dll as the Bengali (Inscript) Keyboard Layout. It supplies the translation tables Windows uses when the Bangla or Bengali INSCRIPT layout is selected. Microsoft lists this layout with keyboard identifier 00020445.

The file is part of Windows, although it is not necessarily present on every installation. Windows may install or use it when the corresponding language or keyboard feature is added. Microsoft describes keyboard-layout DLLs as modules loaded by Windows when the relevant input layout is active. They are normally installed under %windir%System32, subject to architecture-specific Windows rules.

INSCRIPT is not the same as Bangla Phonetic
Bangla/Bengali INSCRIPT is a standardized keyboard layout. Its key positions follow the INSCRIPT arrangement, so typing depends on knowing that layout.

Third-party Bengali keyboards may use their own application files, services, or input-method components. Installing one of those does not repair a damaged Windows INSCRIPT registration. If you specifically need INSCRIPT, add that layout by name in Windows language settings.
Why Windows may request it unexpectedly
You may see this error even if you never deliberately type Bengali. A language profile can be added by a Windows setup choice, an organization policy, a language-pack installation, a migrated user profile, or an update. A duplicate or stale keyboard registration can also request the layout during sign-in or when Windows switches input methods.
A keyboard-layout error is therefore more likely to appear while Windows loads or changes an input layout than when starting a game. If a program displays the message, verify whether the file path and timing actually point to Windows input handling.
Fix 1: Remove and re-add Bangla INSCRIPT
This is the most direct repair when the message appears during sign-in, language switching, or text entry.

Identify the installed layout
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Select Time & language.
- Select Language & region.
- Expand Bengali (India) if it is listed.
- Select … > Language options.
- Look under Keyboards for Bangla – INSCRIPT or Bengali – INSCRIPT.
Also check other installed language entries. Microsoft notes that a keyboard layout may appear under the language that owns it or under the language matching the layout.
Reinstall the keyboard
- In Language options, select the three-dot menu beside the INSCRIPT keyboard.
- Select Remove.
- Restart Windows.
- Return to Settings > Time & language > Language & region.
- Open the relevant language’s Language options.
- Select Add a keyboard.
- Choose Bangla – INSCRIPT.
- Restart Windows again.
- Press Windows + Spacebar and select the restored layout.
- Open a text editor and test Bengali input.
If Bangla – INSCRIPT is not listed, add the matching language first. Select Add a language, search for Bengali, install the appropriate language feature, and then return to Language options to add the keyboard. A complete display-language change is not always required; Windows can add a keyboard layout independently in supported configurations.

What success looks like
The error should stop appearing when Windows starts or switches layouts. The keyboard should appear in the Windows + Spacebar input menu, and selecting it should allow Bengali typing without a loader message.
If Settings refuses to remove the keyboard, remove other duplicate Bengali entries first, restart, and try again. A damaged language profile may need the whole Bengali language entry removed and re-added.
Fix 2: Repair Windows component files with DISM and SFC
Use this step when the file is genuinely absent from a normal Windows system location, when re-adding the keyboard fails, or when the problem began after an interrupted update, disk problem, cleanup operation, or failed system change.
Run DISM first
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Approve the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for DISM to finish. Do not close the window while it is working.
- When it completes, run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until SFC reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
Microsoft recommends DISM before SFC because DISM repairs the component source that SFC uses to replace damaged protected files. The official procedure is documented in Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:RepairSourceWindows /LimitAccess
Replace C:RepairSourceWindows only with a real repair source that matches your installed Windows edition and build closely. Do not paste an invented path and do not use files from an unrelated Windows version.
After restarting, re-add the Bangla INSCRIPT keyboard and test it again.
Manually repeating SFC and DISM can make it difficult to tell what changed, especially when several Windows components are damaged. Fix 3: Check antivirus quarantine
Security software can quarantine a genuine Windows DLL, although you should not assume every detection is a false positive.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Look for a recent event involving
kbdinbe2.dll. - Note the file’s complete path and the detection name.
- Restore it only if the security product identifies it as a Microsoft-signed Windows component in a normal Windows system directory.
- Run a full scan.
- Repair Windows with DISM and SFC afterward.
Do not disable antivirus protection to download a replacement DLL. If the file is located in an application directory, a temporary folder, a download folder, or another user-writable location, treat that as suspicious. Scan the system and investigate the program that placed it there.
You can inspect a file’s signature by right-clicking it, selecting Properties, opening Digital Signatures, and viewing the signer details. The path and signature both matter. A filename alone does not prove that a file is genuine.
Fix 4: Install Windows updates and repair a failed servicing operation
If the problem started immediately after an update, complete all pending updates before trying more invasive recovery.

- Install available updates.
- Restart when prompted.
- Check for updates again until none remain.
- Re-add the Bangla INSCRIPT layout if necessary.

Fix 5: Check keyboard and input drivers
kbdinbe2.dll is not a hardware driver, and Device Manager is not normally where this file is repaired. Still, a broken keyboard device or input stack can create confusing symptoms.

- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards.
- Right-click the physical keyboard device and select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows.
If the physical keyboard works normally in other applications, do not uninstall random devices in Device Manager. The problem is more likely the Windows language layout or system files.
Finding a stale driver among many devices manually can take time. Outbyte Driver Updater can scan and identify driver updates; its full-version installation is optional, and updating a driver is not a substitute for restoring the Bangla INSCRIPT Windows feature.

A random DLL download may contain malware, the wrong Windows build, the wrong architecture, an invalid signature, or a file modified outside Microsoft servicing. Even a clean copy may not restore the language registration that tells Windows when to load the layout.
Do not copy kbdinbe2.dll into System32, an application folder, or a game directory. Do not overwrite a file merely because the name matches. Use Windows language settings, Windows Update, DISM, SFC, or official Windows recovery media instead.
regsvr32 is also not the normal repair. It is intended for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. A keyboard-layout DLL provides layout tables and is loaded by Windows as an input-layout module. Running:
regsvr32 kbdinbe2.dll
will not normally repair the keyboard and may produce an entry-point error. Microsoft’s regsvr32 documentation and keyboard-layout documentation describe these different roles.
32-bit and 64-bit considerations
Do not replace a 64-bit system file with a 32-bit copy, or the reverse. Windows uses architecture-specific locations and redirection rules, particularly on 64-bit systems. A file copied from another Windows release may also fail signature or servicing checks even when its filename is correct.

The safest approach avoids choosing a file manually. Windows installs the correct component for the operating system through language features, updates, and system repair. Microsoft documents the relevant considerations in 64-bit platform guidance.

If the error keeps returning
If DISM and SFC report no corruption but the message continues:
- Record the complete error text.
- Record the exact file path shown, if any.
- Remove duplicate Bengali or Bangla keyboard entries.
- Check antivirus quarantine and protection history.
- Test the layout in a newly created Windows user profile.
- Review whether a recently installed program is deliberately displaying the message.
- Run a full Windows Security scan.
- Use System Restore if the issue began after suspicious software or a system change.
- Consider an in-place Windows repair if the language profile and system servicing remain damaged.
Microsoft’s recovery options cover System Restore and other supported recovery paths.
If the path points to an application folder rather than a Windows system directory, the program may be using a misleading filename or bundling its own copy. In that situation, identify the application, uninstall it, scan the computer, and reinstall only from its official source. There is no verified basis for treating kbdinbe2.dll as a dependency of a particular game, DirectX, .NET, Visual C++ package, or driver vendor.
