The Khazalite Holds battle-traits preview is about Grudges, but the exact rule text—including how Grudges are gained, assigned, lost, or used—cannot be confirmed from the available official coverage. Treat “Hand out some Grudges” as the preview’s subject, not a complete rules explanation; consult the original article or Battletome: Khazalite Holds for the rules needed to play.
What “Hand out some Grudges” tells us—and what it doesn’t
Warhammer Community published a preview titled “Khazalite Holds battle traits – Hand out some Grudges”. Its title identifies Grudges as part of the faction’s battle-trait discussion, but the title alone does not establish the rules. The available official articles confirm the faction and its release context, not the mechanics of the trait.

That means there is no reliable basis here for stating what triggers a Grudge, which player or unit receives one, whether it persists between turns, how it can be removed or spent, or what benefit it grants. Community discussion raises questions about those details, but comments and reactions are not a substitute for rules text. Check the original preview or battletome before applying any specific interpretation at the table.

What the Khazalite Holds are
The Khazalite Holds are a new duardin faction for Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Games Workshop’s faction reveal introduced the battletome alongside units including Thrynns, Runewrights, High Kyng Valankrom, Clangunners, Valayan Guardians, and the Stonebreaker Mortar. The reveal also noted that the Oathkeeper Cannon kit can be built as a Stonebreaker Mortar instead. See the official faction announcement for the announced units and background.

Army Set and battletome context
Warhammer Community’s 11 October 2026 announcement says the Khazalite Holds Army Set contains Hjulda Drakkblud, 10 Clanshields, three Gholems of Gazul, an Oathkeeper Cannon, Battletome: Khazalite Holds, and 53 warscroll cards. The announcement described a preorder the following week and availability while stocks lasted; those were time-specific statements, not confirmation of current stock or ordering status. The same coverage said the battletome would be sold separately later, which does not by itself establish that a separate edition is now available. Check the Army Set announcement and current official listings for present availability.
How Fyreslayers fit into the battletome
The Khazalite Holds battletome also covers specified Fyreslayers units. Games Workshop’s Fyreslayers rules overview identifies units joining the book and others moving to Warhammer Legends. It says the latter remain usable in competitive events for a year after the new book releases. Because that period and event policies are time-sensitive, check the current battletome and the relevant event’s rules before relying on a unit’s present-day competitive legality.

The setting behind the Grudges
In the faction’s setting, a karak is a mountain hold, with upper halls and deeper subterranean regions. Official setting coverage describes Khazalite life as shaped by remembrance of the Ancestor Gods, and by the practical work of a great forge, underground farms, and gem mines. These details give the faction’s grudges a cultural backdrop, but they do not reveal the battle-trait’s gameplay effects. For more, see Warhammer Community’s tour of a Khazalite hold.
