Spoilers ahead. In Speak of the Devil, ride with Zizka to the Devil’s Den, help Kubyenka in a brawl, dig up the buried hand cannons, then join an ambush to rescue the Dry Devil. The weapon cache is at Kubyenka’s fourth stop. Bring strong armor and weapons: the brawl and ambush both include mandatory fights.
Before starting: prepare for two fights
This is the fourteenth main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, set in Kuttenberg. GameMaps lists level 16 as the required level; treat that as the guide’s recommendation/listing, not proof of a game-enforced level lock. GameMaps’ quest entry lists 11 objectives.

PowerPyx warns that combat is unavoidable in the Devil’s Den brawl and the later road ambush. Equip strong armor and weapons before heading out, and be ready to fight again during the rescue sequence.
How to complete Speak of the Devil
- Ride with Zizka to the Devil’s Den. Follow the quest route to the camp.
- Help Kubyenka in the brawl. This is one of the quest’s required fights.
- Follow Kubyenka to his old camp. He has forgotten the precise place where the hand cannons are buried, so accompany him as he checks several locations.
- Dig at each search stop. Use the spade by the small tent at Kubyenka’s camp, or bring one with you. The weapons are at the fourth stop described in the PowerPyx walkthrough. At the second stop, you can also find a basket underwater in the stream with two Moonshine.
- Take the hand cannons back to Zizka. Once you have found the buried weapons, return them to him.
- Join the road ambush and rescue the Dry Devil. You can try to intimidate the guards with a skill check. If it fails, they attack and you must defeat them; the available guide does not establish a guaranteed way to avoid combat.
- Return to the Devil’s Den. After the rescue, go back to the inn for the debrief with the Dry Devil.
What happens after the rescue?
The debrief starts two main quests: The Devil’s Pack and Into the Underworld. Both are eventually required to continue the story. PowerPyx recommends doing The Devil’s Pack first because of its connection to The Dirty Seven achievement.

Check for side activities before moving on
PowerPyx also lists side activities available after Speak of the Devil and flags some as highly missable. That list is a guide’s checklist, not an official catalogue proving that every activity expires at this point. If you want to clear optional content, review the guide’s list and check the activities that interest you before advancing. See the PowerPyx walkthrough and its side-activity checklist.
