There is no verified, current list of ten standout Kingdom Come: Deliverance II mods to recommend by name here. The game does have an active Steam Workshop and a dedicated Nexus Mods catalog, so the practical way to choose is to filter for your goal, then confirm each mod’s compatibility and installation instructions on its own page.
Where to find KCD2 mods
Steam Workshop is the official Steam modding route, with visible categories for combat, performance, user interface, utilities, gameplay, and visuals/graphics. Its categories are useful for browsing, but a category or rating alone does not establish that a particular mod is the best fit.

Nexus Mods’ KCD2 catalog and collections provide another place to discover mods. The catalog changes over time; check the individual mod page for current version support, requirements, installation steps, and reported conflicts before installing.
Choose mods by what you want to change
Use the Workshop categories or Nexus catalog to narrow the search, then evaluate each candidate against your own priorities. The categories below are search directions, not endorsements of specific entries.

- Combat: Browse combat-focused mods and read carefully for changes to difficulty, timing, or other systems you want to preserve.
- Visuals: Search visuals/graphics, and confirm any stated requirements and installation steps on the mod page.
- Interface: User-interface mods can improve readability or navigation, but may conflict with other interface changes.
- Convenience and management: Consider a mod manager if you plan to install and organize multiple mods; the manager is a tool, not a recommendation of any individual mod.
For each candidate, record the game version it supports, dependencies, known conflicts, and installation complexity. A popular listing or a place in a collection is not, by itself, evidence of compatibility or quality.
Install carefully and diagnose problems
The KCD2 Vortex extension documents support for Steam, Epic, GOG, and Xbox editions. It places mods in the game’s Mods folder by default and provides load-order features. Its listing says Workshop mods are read into the load order for the Steam edition, allowing Steam Workshop and Nexus mods to be used together. Check the extension’s current notes and each mod’s instructions for your edition before relying on that setup: KCD2 Vortex Extension.
A separate tool, KCD2 Mod Manager, describes installation and organization features. Its listing identifies version 4.3, updated March 3, 2026. Confirm its current version and instructions on the listing before use.
- Check the mod page first. Verify that the mod supports your installed game version and edition, note its dependencies and conflicts, and follow any manual steps exactly.
- Use one installation method deliberately. If you use Vortex or another manager, confirm that it is configured for your edition and that the mod appears where expected. Do not assume every mod can be installed the same way.
- Check the load order. The community installation documentation warns that if
mod_order.txtexists, a mod missing from that file may not load. Follow the mod’s instructions and the documentation for your setup: KCD2 mod installation documentation. - If a mod does not work, isolate the cause. Check for unsupported game versions, missing load-order entries, required manual installation steps, and a broken or incompatible mod. Make one change at a time so you can identify which step resolves the issue.
Why this is not a ten-mod ranking
A useful “best mods” list needs current, item-by-item checks: named mods, supported game versions, requirements, conflicts, and installation notes. The sources available here establish that modding support and catalogs exist, but do not verify ten individual mods against those criteria. Naming ten picks anyway would make the list look more certain than the evidence allows, so use the catalogs to find candidates and assess their pages before installing.
