If you do not own the original game, choose the full Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World. Nintendo describes that edition as including the original game, Switch 2 optimization, and the new story. Its listing also states that it can only be played on Nintendo Switch 2.

Is Star-Crossed World only on Switch 2?
The Star-Crossed World content is offered through the Switch 2 edition and its upgrade pack. Nintendo says the Switch 2 edition is playable only on Switch 2. Existing owners need the original full game plus the upgrade pack and Switch 2 hardware to use this route; a new buyer needs the full edition.
