Knight’s Lightning Spear is a Shadow of the Erdtree Dragon Cult incantation that throws a lightning spear and adds follow-up spears from ancient dragon crests. It requires 36 Faith, costs 29 FP, and occupies one memory slot. Find it as loot in Scorpion River Catacombs.
What Knight’s Lightning Spear does
The spell launches an initial lightning spear while ancient dragon crests fire additional spears. Charging the incantation increases the number of crests, adding more follow-up projectiles. The item effect is described as: “Hurls lightning spear while firing additional spears from ancient dragon crests.” (Eldenpedia; Gamer Guides)

That pattern is its main distinction from the base-game Lightning Spear: Knight’s Lightning Spear can send multiple projectiles, but the extra shots do not guarantee that every projectile will hit a particular enemy. Position, target movement, and the time available to charge all affect how useful the follow-ups are.

Where to find Knight’s Lightning Spear
It is found as loot in Scorpion River Catacombs. The route descriptions identify the spiked-ceiling area, a bridge, a blighted statue, and a corpse guarded by imps. Because the available route descriptions differ in some details, use a current map or route guide for exact turns rather than treating that sequence as a precise step-by-step path. (Eldenpedia; Gamer Guides)
Take care while traversing the dungeon: the spiked-ceiling section and enemies around the item can make reaching the corpse hazardous.

Knight’s Lightning Spear vs. Lightning Spear
| Spell | Faith | FP | Memory slots | Projectile pattern |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Knight’s Lightning Spear | 36 | 29 | 1 | Initial spear plus follow-up spears from ancient dragon crests; charging adds crests |
| Lightning Spear | 17 | 18 | 1 | Single spear |
The base-game Lightning Spear has a substantially lower Faith requirement and FP cost, while both spells use one memory slot. The added projectile pattern may suit situations where enemies remain in range for the follow-ups; Lightning Spear asks for less build investment and FP per cast. The cited references do not provide a controlled damage or DPS comparison, so they do not establish one as the universal winner. (Eldenpedia; Eldenpedia)
