Both are announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with Alix Wilton Regan voicing Lara in each.

What is Tomb Raider: Catalyst about?
Catalyst takes place in Northern India after a mythical cataclysm exposes ancient secrets and brings guardian forces into the open. Lara investigates as treasure hunters converge on the region. The official description points to rivals and allies, alongside a threat connected to the newly exposed power.

Is Tomb Raider: Catalyst a remake?
No. Catalyst is described as a new adventure, not a remake. The game revisiting the original is Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Amazon describes Legacy of Atlantis as a reimagining of Lara Croft’s 1996 debut, built with Unreal Engine 5 and featuring modern gameplay and visuals, as well as new surprises intended to honor the original. It is not presented as a straightforward visual remaster.
When is Tomb Raider: Catalyst coming out?
The date is unsettled. The official announcement on December 11, 2025, gave Catalyst a 2027 target, and Crystal Dynamics’ project page still lists 2027. But in a July 24, 2026 report, PC Gamer said Amazon Games chief Jeffrey Gattis referred to the next Tomb Raider game arriving in 2028. PC Gamer reported that Amazon had not confirmed that target in response to its inquiry. The available statements therefore do not establish whether the official target has changed; no exact release date is confirmed. Crystal Dynamics lists 2027; PC Gamer reported the 2028 reference.

Legacy of Atlantis has a separate target
The 2025 announcement listed Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis for 2026. That is a target year, not a specific launch date. The anniversary context is notable: the official announcement says 2026 marks 30 years of the Tomb Raider series.

Which platforms will the new Tomb Raider games be on?
Both titles are announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The official materials reviewed do not establish physical editions, so a boxed release should not be assumed from the platform announcement alone. The announcements also do not verify live retailer listings.

Alix Wilton Regan is the announced voice of Lara Croft in both games, according to the official reveal. The Tomb Raider news page carries the official announcement.

Crystal Dynamics Studio Creative Director Noah Hughes said the games are “designed to offer compelling experiences that longtime fans will love and new players can easily enjoy.” That is the studio’s stated aim, not an independent assessment of either game. Crystal Dynamics has described its collaboration with Amazon Game Studios as transformative for the projects; that, too, is a promotional statement rather than a measure of the games’ quality.
