What the Standard Edition includes
The full base campaign
Standard follows Bruce Wayne from his origin to his emergence as a legend. The campaign can be played with a group of allies, including Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Jim Gordon, Catwoman and Talia al Ghul. These characters are presented as playable allies in the base game, so you do not need Deluxe or a separate DLC purchase to access the central story roster.

Core customization and collecting
WB Games Support lists 100 suits and outfits in Standard. That count is an official publisher figure for the base game, not a promise that every costume is available immediately at the start of a new save. The edition also contains more than 20 vehicles and more than 250 Batcave props and trophies. Those collections form the main customization and completion activities outside the story.
Standard does not include the Legacy Collection or the Mayhem Collection. You can still begin with the campaign and the base-game collectibles, then decide whether the extra missions, outfits and themed vehicles justify a later upgrade.
What Deluxe adds
Deluxe contains everything in Standard and bundles two collections: the Legacy Collection and the Mayhem Collection. These are the additions that distinguish Deluxe from the base edition; the campaign, core ally roster and published Standard item counts remain the same.

The Legacy Collection is made up of three launch-day packs:
- Arkham Trilogy Pack: seven outfits, one themed Batmobile and five Batcave items.
- Batman Beyond Pack: seven outfits, one themed Batmobile and five Batcave items.
- Party Music Pack: seven outfits, one themed Batmobile and five Batcave items.
Together, those packs provide more than 30 launch-day items across the three categories of rewards described by The LEGO Group. The “more than 30” total refers to the combined launch-day items across the packs; each pack’s seven-outfit, one-vehicle and five-item structure is the more useful way to understand what you receive.

Mayhem Collection
The Mayhem Collection adds a dedicated Joker-and-Harley Quinn story mission, Mayhem Mode and the Sinister Pack. The Sinister Pack contains seven suits, one Batmobile and five Batcave items. If your main reason for choosing Deluxe is the Joker and Harley Quinn content, this is the collection you need; it is not part of Standard.
Mayhem Mode is a separate mode rather than a replacement for the main campaign. The included Joker-and-Harley Quinn mission is likewise additional story content, so buying Standard alone does not provide that scenario.

At list price, Deluxe costs $20 more than Standard. A Standard owner can buy the Deluxe Edition Upgrade for $24.99, bringing the combined total to $94.98 before any discount, tax or regional adjustment.

Therefore, a new buyer who already expects to want both collections saves $4.99 at list price by choosing Deluxe instead of buying Standard and upgrading later. Standard remains sensible when you are focused on the campaign, are waiting for a sale, or want to see how much of the base-game content you complete before spending on DLC. The upgrade is useful for people who already own Standard, but it is not the lowest-cost route for a new purchase when both editions are available at their stated prices.
What “complete” means here
Deluxe includes the two announced launch collections described above. That means the complete package identified for the edition at launch, not a guarantee that any future, unannounced content would be added automatically. Check the current product description if a later expansion or regional bundle is advertised after launch.

Platforms and launch timing
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Because the preorder windows have passed, early-access eligibility is no longer a current purchasing benefit for a new order. If you are checking an existing preorder or a code received from a retailer, verify the platform and redemption terms on that retailer’s listing.
Preorder Batsuit
The official preorder bonus was The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit for Standard and Deluxe preorders on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Nintendo Switch 2 preorders also received the Batsuit at launch. Availability depended on the preorder window and retailer, so a current listing should not be assumed to include the bonus unless it says so explicitly.
Which edition should you buy?
Choose Standard when the campaign is your priority
Standard is the straightforward choice if you want the Bruce Wayne origin-to-legend campaign, the base ally roster and the substantial core collection of 100 outfits, more than 20 vehicles and more than 250 Batcave props and trophies. It leaves the DLC decision open and can be the better value if you plan to wait for a sale or are uncertain whether extra modes and missions will interest you.
Choose Deluxe when you want Joker, Harley Quinn and the launch collections
Deluxe is the better fit if you want the additional Joker-and-Harley Quinn mission, Mayhem Mode, the Sinister Pack and the three Legacy Collection packs from the beginning. It also avoids the higher $94.98 list-price total that results from buying Standard and the upgrade separately.

Use the Upgrade if you already own Standard
The Deluxe Edition Upgrade is specifically for Standard Edition owners. It grants both the Legacy Collection DLC and the Mayhem Collection DLC for $24.99 at the stated US price. It does not replace the base game, so an upgrade purchase on its own is not a substitute for owning Standard.

Four physical LEGO DC Batman sets have redeemable game content identified by Warner Bros. Games. These are separate purchases from the videogame’s Standard, Deluxe and Upgrade editions. The ordinary versions of three Batmobile vehicles can also be earned in the game; the gold vehicle variants are exclusive to owners of the corresponding physical sets.

Set availability is subject to stock. Before buying, check the retailer’s listing for the exact set, platform or code requirements, regional availability and redemption deadline. Purchasing one of these physical sets does not upgrade a Standard videogame edition to Deluxe and does not replace either DLC collection.
DLC, codes and microtransactions: important clarifications
Deluxe DLC is not the same as a preorder bonus
The Legacy Collection and Mayhem Collection are included because Deluxe contains them, or because the Standard owner buys the $24.99 Deluxe Edition Upgrade. The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit was a separate preorder bonus with its own eligibility window. A listing that mentions the Batsuit does not, by itself, confirm that both DLC collections are included.

The LEGO Group’s official FAQ states that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will not have in-game microtransactions requiring real money. That statement concerns the game economy; it does not make the physical LEGO sets free, and it does not turn a physical-set reward into part of the Standard or Deluxe videogame editions.
Buying checklist
- Confirm your platform: choose the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, or Nintendo Switch 2 listing that matches your system.
- Decide whether you want both DLC collections: if yes, compare the $89.99 Deluxe price with the $69.99 Standard price; a new buyer should not assume the later upgrade will be cheaper.
- If you already own Standard, select the Deluxe Edition Upgrade: the upgrade is the route that adds both Legacy and Mayhem.
- Check preorder language carefully: the 72-hour early-access period and The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit were tied to preorder eligibility and dates that have passed.
- For a physical LEGO reward, verify the exact set and stock: gold variants are tied to the corresponding Batman Logo or Batmobile set and are separate from the videogame edition.
Bottom line
Standard gives you the complete base campaign and the principal customization and collecting content. Deluxe is the best-value launch package for a new buyer who wants every announced collection, because it includes Legacy and Mayhem for $20 more than Standard. The $24.99 Upgrade is designed for people who already bought Standard, while the four physical LEGO sets offer separate, set-specific gold rewards rather than additional videogame editions.
