Steam will stop selling Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry (2018) and Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice (2020) after October 23, 2026. The publisher, Assemble Entertainment, announced the removal in a Steam notice that Video Games Chronicle reported on October 9, 2026. The notice says the games “will only be available on Steam until October 23. After that, both games will be removed from the store.” Assemble has not said why. The two games are the newest entries in a series that already lost its earlier releases from Steam in 2025.
What is being removed, and when
The removal covers the two most recent Leisure Suit Larry releases, both of which were sold on Steam as standalone titles. Steam is the only storefront where the publisher’s notice sets a date. Here is what the reporting establishes for each game:

The sale prices come from the same Video Games Chronicle report and describe a 95% discount on each game at the time of writing. They are temporary promotional figures, not stable prices, and the discount may end before or after the removal date.
Where the games were listed when the news broke
At the time of the October 9 report, both games were listed at the discounted price on Steam, GOG and Nintendo Switch. The report noted that the Steam discount appeared to apply only in the United States. It did not establish whether Xbox or PlayStation storefronts would receive the same discount, so readers in other regions or on other platforms should check their own store directly.

The Steam removal does not tell us what happens on other storefronts after October 23. Assemble has not said whether the removal extends to GOG, Nintendo Switch or any other store.
What happened to the earlier games in 2025
The newer removal follows a 2025 event. In May 2025, Steam stopped selling the six numbered Sierra On-Line games in the series, which are numbered 1 through 7 with no fourth entry, and Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. Video Games Chronicle reported at the time that existing owners could still play those titles after they were removed from sale. The earlier titles also remained available on GOG, according to the same reporting.

That history is useful context, but it does not guarantee the same outcome for the two newer games. The 2026 announcement does not include a specific assurance for existing owners of Wet Dreams Don’t Dry or Wet Dreams Dry Twice after October 23.
Why the games are being removed
Assemble did not give a reason for the removal in the announcement, as Video Games Chronicle reported it. Any explanation so far is speculation.

One theory has circulated. In 2018, an Assemble staff member reportedly said the intellectual property was owned by Codemasters and licensed to Assemble for exclusive online distribution. Phil Salvador, library director at the Video Game History Foundation, suggested that the Steam licence might not have been renewed after EA acquired Codemasters. Video Games Chronicle reported his post in 2025 and described the issue as a licensing problem common to many digital-only releases.
This is a reported theory, not a confirmed cause. Neither Assemble nor EA has confirmed it, and no rights holder has published a statement tying the 2026 removal to a licence decision. Until one does, the licence explanation should be treated as unconfirmed. The publisher’s own words, “both games will be removed from the store,” are the only confirmed statement about the removal.

What is still unknown
- Owner access after October 23. The announcement does not say whether people who already own the games on Steam will keep playing them, and the 2025 assurance covered different titles.
- Non-Steam storefronts. Whether GOG and Nintendo Switch will keep the two games after October 23 has not been established.
- Regional pricing. The report recorded a US-only Steam discount on October 9. Current prices and regional availability may have changed.
- The reason. The publisher has not given one, and the licensing theory has not been confirmed.
What to check before you buy or play
- Open the store page for the game in your own region. On Steam, check the store page for the release date, price and any notice about availability. Prices shown on the day you read this may differ from the October 9 figures.
- Confirm the removal date on the store page. If the notice still says October 23, 2026, the game is available on Steam until that date only.
- Read the store’s terms on ownership and access before purchasing. Buying on one storefront does not grant a licence on another, and a store may change how a purchased game is handled.
- If you already own either game, make sure your copy is linked to the account you use to play it, and check the store’s library or download page regularly after October 23 for any change to your access.
Readers who want to follow future developments should watch for a statement from Assemble Entertainment, which would be the most reliable source on the removal’s scope and reason.
