Lost Soul Aside has a combat system reviewers often found stylish and satisfying, but that strength does not carry every part of the game. What is Lost Soul Aside?
Developed by Ultizero Games, Lost Soul Aside is an action-adventure RPG about Kaser’s attempt to save his younger sister and humanity from dimensional invaders. It launched on August 29, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. A free playable demo was also announced for launch day. Why are Lost Soul Aside reviews mixed?

The story and opening can take time to win players over
Metacritic’s critic-review summary flags a narrative that lacks cohesion. GamesRadar criticizes the slow opening and awkwardly animated cutscenes. For players drawn in by the premise, those complaints suggest the story may not provide as strong or immediate a hook as the combat does.
Platforming and repetition interrupt the action
Metacritic’s summary also identifies repetitive levels, imprecise platforming and limited replayability as concerns. GamesRadar likewise describes the platforming as stiff-feeling. These are review criticisms, not findings that every player will experience in the same way, but they matter because traversal occupies time between the combat encounters.

Is Lost Soul Aside’s combat good?
