Use the project page for the pack description and the files index for downloads: Lucky World Invasion on CurseForge. Do not combine 2.7.2 with another Minecraft or Forge branch simply because the launcher allows it. Modpacks are collections of interdependent mods and configuration files, so a seemingly minor version difference can prevent a world from loading or cause clients to disconnect.

Lucky World Invasion is built around a survival loop that becomes more dangerous as players open lucky blocks and progress through the world. The project description presents invasions as a threat that arrives during sleepless nights, while the Ender Dragon is substantially stronger than in an unmodified game. It is therefore closer to a cooperative challenge or PvP mini game than a relaxed building pack.
Skyblock race maps
Race maps are selected from the world-creation screen rather than downloaded and installed manually. The pack’s documented path is Create World → World Type: Skyblock → Customize → Select Race Map. The map selector is part of the pack’s setup, so starting with a normal world type will not expose the race-map choices. Create a separate world for each race or ruleset; changing a world’s type after creation is not a safe substitute for making a new one.

Invasions and the grace period
The documented configuration delays the invasion escalation with a 21-day grace period. That number belongs to the pack configuration described for the relevant release, not to Minecraft itself, and can change in a later release or in a server configuration. Treat the early days as preparation time: establish shelter, gather resources and agree on player roles before the invasion systems become the central threat. If your installed release behaves differently, check its included configuration and release notes instead of assuming the 21-day value is universal.
Combat and progression
Tacz firearms, adaptive or “smart” hostile-mob AI and rebalanced weapon progression are listed features. The result is a combat system that expects players to learn the pack’s equipment curve rather than rely only on vanilla swords and bows. In multiplayer, decide whether firearms and the invasion schedule are cooperative defenses or part of a player-versus-player ruleset before starting a shared race.
Lucky blocks and scripting
The project names Pink, Summer, Fire, Among Us, Desert, Elemental, Water, Frost Element, Morbius, Wind Element, Heat Element and Energy Element lucky blocks. It also includes custom Lucky World Invasion and Tacz blocks. KubeJS event scripting is configurable, and the pack advertises multiplayer quality-of-life improvements. Because scripted events can alter drops, encounters and timing, avoid copying configuration files from a different release into a 2.7.2 installation unless the pack documentation explicitly supports it.
Shaders and invasion visuals
Shaders can run, but the invasion sky effects are disabled when shaders are enabled. The project recommends playing without shaders if you want the intended invasion presentation. This is a visual trade-off rather than a server compatibility requirement: a server can still run while individual clients choose their graphics settings, but players using shaders will not see the complete sky effect.

Before installing: versions and files
- Use Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Use the Forge build supplied or required by the selected Lucky World Invasion release.
- Install the same Lucky World Invasion release on every client.
- For a dedicated server, obtain the separate server-files ZIP that matches the client release.
- Keep a backup of any existing world before changing pack files or configurations.
The official files index lists both the client archive and Lucky-World-Invasion-Server-Files-2.7.2.zip. Download them from the release files page, and verify the release number before extracting anything. The client archive is listed as 58.6 MB for the 2.7.2 files in the 2025 listing; that is an archive size, not a promise about the final disk space used by Minecraft, Forge, Java or generated worlds.
Install the client pack
- Choose a launcher that supports CurseForge Forge packs. Install or update the launcher, then use its import or install function for Lucky World Invasion. Select the 2.7.2 release for Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge rather than allowing the launcher to substitute another version.
- Let the launcher create the profile. Keep the pack in its own profile so its mods and configuration do not mix with another 1.20.1 installation. Do not drag individual mods from the pack into a vanilla profile; the pack’s behavior depends on the complete collection and its configuration.
- Launch once before joining a server. A first launch allows the launcher to finish downloading dependencies and lets Forge create the profile directories. If the game closes, read the launcher log for the first missing or incompatible component instead of repeatedly launching the same profile.
- Confirm the title-screen or profile version. Check that the profile identifies Lucky World Invasion 2.7.2, Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge. If any one of those differs from the server’s release, correct the profile before troubleshooting network errors.
- Create a test world. Use the documented skyblock path if you want a race map. This verifies that the pack loads locally before you add a server address or invite other players.
The project’s files page is the authoritative place to select a release. A launcher may display a newer file later; that does not make it interchangeable with a server already running 2.7.2. Update the server and all clients as one planned change, and preserve a world backup first.

- From the main menu, choose Create World.
- Set World Type to Skyblock.
- Open Customize.
- Choose Select Race Map, then select the map your group will use.
- Review the remaining world options and create the world.
No separate manual map download is required for the race maps described by the project. If the selector is missing, first verify that you launched the Lucky World Invasion profile rather than a plain Forge profile. Also check that the profile’s release is complete; an interrupted installation can leave the game able to start while omitting pack-specific screens.
Self-host a Lucky World Invasion server
Self-hosting gives you ownership of the server files and configuration, but it also makes you responsible for the machine, networking, backups and updates. The available evidence confirms the matching server ZIP and its release number; it does not publish a universal startup command sequence. Use the files and instructions included in that archive and the Java/server requirements for your environment rather than copying a command intended for another Forge pack.

Prepare the server directory
- Download Lucky-World-Invasion-Server-Files-2.7.2.zip from the official CurseForge files index.
- Extract it into a new, dedicated directory. Do not place it inside an unrelated vanilla server folder or merge it with another modpack.
- Read the included files before starting the server. They define the pack’s server-side mods, configuration and any launch or acceptance steps supplied for that release.
- Complete the server’s required first-run configuration, including the Minecraft account-agreement step if the included server software requests it.
- Start the server using the archive’s supplied instructions and wait for it to finish loading before connecting. The first run may generate configuration and world directories.
Make the server reachable
- Run the server on a machine that remains powered on while players are connected.
- Allow the server application through the host operating system’s firewall.
- Configure the router or network gateway to forward the Minecraft port to the server machine when players connect from outside the local network.
- Give players the correct public address or hostname, while keeping administrative credentials private.
- Test from a different network, such as a phone hotspot, because a local connection can succeed even when outside access is blocked.
These are network-administration tasks rather than features documented by the modpack. Your router, internet provider and operating system determine the exact screens and port-forwarding method. If outside players cannot connect, test the firewall and forwarding path before reinstalling the pack.
Keep worlds and configuration safe
- Stop the server cleanly before copying a world or changing pack files.
- Back up the world directory and the server configuration before every pack update.
- Keep a dated copy of the previous server ZIP so you can return to the release that created the world.
- Test an update on a copy of the world first. A newer pack can change scripts, item behavior or invasion settings.
Use managed hosting instead
A managed host removes much of the operating-system and network work, usually replacing it with a web control panel. The documented Lucky World Invasion workflow from VeryGames is:
- Open the provider’s Minecraft control panel.
- Create a new installation.
- Select Lucky World Invasion from the modpack list.
- Choose the required version.
- Create the server and wait for the panel to finish deployment.
The provider lists release 2.7.2 as Minecraft 1.20.1-47.4.4. Treat that as the provider’s listed combination and still verify that the installed clients use the same pack release. The provider’s documented update path is Addons → Lucky World Invasion → update, followed by selecting the new version. Read the panel’s backup and rollback options before applying an update to an established world.

Self-hosting or managed hosting?

Choose self-hosting when control over files, scripts and backups matters more than convenience and you can administer the network. Choose managed hosting when a panel-based installation and update path is worth paying for. No authoritative RAM requirement or player-count benchmark was published in the sources used for this guide, so do not select a plan from a guessed number. Start with the provider’s stated limits, monitor actual memory use and increase resources only when the server’s logs and performance show a need.

Every player should install the same client pack release as the server. A mismatch can appear as a missing-mod error, a registry-sync failure, an immediate disconnect or a world that loads with incorrect behavior. Use this order when bringing a group online:
- Write down the server’s Minecraft, Forge and Lucky World Invasion versions.
- Install that exact combination in each player’s launcher profile.
- Remove or disable extra mods that are not part of the profile unless the server administrator has approved them.
- Launch the pack once locally before attempting to join.
- Connect with the server address only after the local profile reaches the main menu successfully.
If one player can join and another cannot, compare their profile version and launcher instance first. Do not solve a client mismatch by changing the server blindly; that can leave the rest of the group on incompatible files.
Troubleshooting common failures
The game starts, but the race-map selector is missing
Confirm that the selected profile is Lucky World Invasion, not ordinary Forge, and follow Create World → World Type: Skyblock → Customize. If the selector still does not appear, reinstall or repair the complete 2.7.2 profile from the official files rather than adding a map file from an unrelated release.

The server rejects a player during login
Compare Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge and the pack release on both sides. The server-files ZIP is not a replacement for the client pack: players still need the matching client installation. Remove accidental extra mods and retry with a clean profile.
Players outside the home network cannot connect
Check that the server process is running, the operating-system firewall permits it and the router forwards the server port to the correct local machine. Test from an external network. If the internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, ordinary port forwarding may not provide an inbound route; ask the provider about a reachable address or use a managed service.
Invasion effects look incomplete
Disable shaders on the affected client. The pack states that shaders disable the invasion sky effects, and the project recommends no shaders for the full presentation.
An update damages or changes a world
Stop the server, restore the pre-update backup and return to the previous pack release. Then test the new release on a copy of the world. Never overwrite the only copy of an established world during an update.
Licensing and redistribution
The original CurseForge project displays an All Rights Reserved license. That means you should not assume that repackaging, modifying or redistributing the original collection is permitted. The separate Lucky World Invasion Reloaded repository states that official releases may be redistributed unmodified with credit, while modified versions or forks published as separate modpacks require permission; third-party mods retain their own licenses. Those Reloaded terms do not automatically apply to the original project. Read the license attached to the exact files you plan to share, and obtain permission before publishing a modified pack.
The Reloaded licensing guidance is available in its README: Lucky World Invasion Reloaded Modpack README. Hosting a private server for your group is different from uploading a repackaged public download; in either case, keep the original credits and respect each included mod’s license.

Practical launch checklist
- Server and clients are all on Minecraft 1.20.1.
- The Forge release and Lucky World Invasion release match on every installation.
- The official client archive and matching server-files ZIP came from the CurseForge files index.
- A test world loads and exposes the Skyblock race-map selector.
- The group understands that invasions escalate after the documented grace period and that the Ender Dragon is buffed.
- Firewall, router forwarding or the managed-host address has been tested from the network players will use.
- A world backup exists before the first public session and before every update.
- Players know that shaders remove invasion sky effects.
Final recommendation
For the least ambiguity, install Lucky World Invasion 2.7.2 on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge, use the official matching server-files archive, and keep every client on that exact profile. Self-host when you need direct control of files and networking; use a managed panel when deployment and updates are more important than machine-level control. Because the pack’s invasion timing, scripts and visuals are central to its challenge, preserve backups and verify the selected release before changing a live world.
