When did Lucy join Guilty Gear -Strive-?
CD PROJEKT RED and Arc System Works announced the crossover on July 22, 2024, initially describing Lucy as the final character in Season Pass 4 and saying she would arrive in 2025. Arc System Works’ Version 1.48 patch notes, dated August 20, 2025, set the update for after maintenance on August 21. Lucy became playable with that update.

For the Nintendo Switch Edition, Arc System Works later confirmed a separate roster update: Lucy joined on December 18, 2025, according to the company’s Developer’s Backyard Vol. 19.

The Version 1.48 patch notes list PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows versions. The Switch Edition received Lucy later, on December 18, 2025.

How do you get Lucy?
Arc System Works lists two ways to access her: purchase Guilty Gear -Strive- Season Pass 4 or buy the standalone “Lucy” DLC item. The base game alone does not include her. If you are considering a physical or bundled edition, check that edition’s current contents rather than assuming it includes the character or the pass.
How does Lucy fight in Guilty Gear -Strive-?
Lucy brings her netrunner identity and tools into the fighting game: she uses a monowire and hacking skills, and Arc System Works describes her as strongest at mid-range. Producer Ken Miyauchi said the team aimed to make her approachable to newcomers, giving her familiar fighting-game tools such as projectiles, advancing attacks, and invincible options. The studio’s December 2025 developer interview explains that design goal and her adaptation.

Cyberpunk details in her presentation
Arc System Works worked with Satoru Homma, Japan Country Manager at CD PROJEKT RED and producer of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, on adapting Lucy. The team rebuilt her HUD with the Cyberpunk 2077 interface as a reference and created hacking icons inspired by six Quickhack types and the Short Nerve Circuit effect. Official sound assets from the Cyberpunk 2077 development team helped shape the Quickhack effects.
Lucy is not the guest character planned for Winter 2026
Arc System Works’ September 29, 2026 Developer’s Backyard Vol. 20 discusses a different guest character planned for Winter 2026. That is a separate, then-unnamed addition; Lucy’s release was in 2025.

Who is Lucy?
Lucy, whose full name is Lucyna Kushinada, is one of the main characters of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the anime set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Her story in Guilty Gear -Strive- connects the settings: Miyauchi described her deep dive into the Net as somehow carrying her soul into Guilty Gear’s Backyard.
