Bungie had previously confirmed that a former artist included Hook’s decals in a texture sheet used in the game. The resolution’s terms have not been disclosed.
What happened with the Marathon art dispute?
In May 2025, Hook said that designs from posters she had made in 2017 appeared in Marathon’s environments. Bungie investigated and confirmed unauthorized use of the decals, saying a former Bungie artist had included them in a texture sheet that was ultimately used in-game.
As reported by Windows Central, Bungie said the issue was unknown to its current art team. It also said it would review the relevant in-game assets and introduce stricter checks to document artists’ contributions.
Did Bungie resolve the Antireal dispute?
Yes. On December 2, 2025, Hook wrote: “The Marathon art issue has been resolved with Bungie and Sony Interactive Entertainment to my satisfaction.” Her statement confirms that she considers the matter resolved with both companies; it does not specify what they agreed to do.

PC Gamer later reported that Hook appeared in Marathon’s credits as a freelance visual design consultant. It also reported a subsequent use of her art on a licensed Xbox controller. The reporting does not establish whether that controller use was covered by the December resolution, so the two developments should not be conflated.
