Yes. MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is a side-scrolling beat ’em up developed by Tribute Games, the studio behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Published by Dotemu with Marvel Games as a collaborator, it launched on December 1, 2025 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What kind of game is MARVEL Cosmic Invasion?
It is an arcade-style, side-scrolling Marvel beat ’em up. The story centers on Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave threatening life across the galaxy, with battles taking players through places such as New York City and the Negative Zone. Dotemu describes the game’s full-color pixel art as a tribute to an iconic Marvel era, so “retro-inspired” is an apt description of its presentation.
The roster includes 15 playable heroes, mixing Earth-based characters with cosmic figures:
- Earth-based heroes: Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm, Captain America and Iron Man.
- Cosmic heroes: Nova, Phyla-Vell, Beta Ray Bill and Silver Surfer.

How does Cosmic Swap work?
For each level, players select two heroes and can switch between them instantly using the named Cosmic Swap mechanic. The pairing lets players combine characters in fight sequences and use special attacks. The game also supports local and online multiplayer with drop-in/drop-out play, according to Dotemu.
Who made it, and when did it launch?
Tribute Games developed MARVEL Cosmic Invasion. Dotemu published it, and Marvel Games collaborated on the project. Tribute Games is also the developer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, making the connection in the title direct rather than a comparison based only on art style or genre.

The game launched on December 1, 2025. Dotemu announced a $29.99 launch price and availability at launch through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass; those are launch details, not a statement of current prices or subscription availability. Steam also credits Gamirror Games as a publisher on its storefront, while Dotemu’s own page emphasizes Dotemu and Tribute Games.
Which platforms and editions are available?
The digital game launched for PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo’s US Switch 2 listing specifies one to four players on one system or online. Check the listing for the platform and region you intend to use before buying, particularly if multiplayer player-count details matter to your setup.

Dotemu announced physical Standard and Deluxe editions for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, with a March 13, 2026 release date. The announcement said distribution would be worldwide outside Asia. The announced contents and prices were:

These are prices in Dotemu’s November 20, 2025 physical-edition announcement, not confirmed current offers. The announcement includes Xbox in its price breakdown, but lists physical editions only for Switch, Switch 2 and PS5; do not infer an Xbox physical release from that price alone.
