There is no single best Marvel Rivals preset: the right settings depend on your PC or console, display, and whether you value image quality or responsiveness more. On PC, lower Global Illumination and reflections first, then use a GPU-supported upscaler; reduce render scale only if you still need more headroom. On console, choose a high-frame-rate mode only if it is available for your platform and your display can show the higher refresh rate.
Best PC settings to try first
Treat these as a starting point, not a guaranteed preset. Change one setting at a time, play the same kind of match, and keep the change only if the result improves on your system. A July 13, 2026 PC settings guide prioritizes lighting and reflections, but does not establish a universal FPS gain for any setting.
- Reduce Global Illumination and reflections. These are the first visual options to lower when the frame rate is below your target. Compare the image and performance after each change.
- Try an upscaler supported by your GPU. If the current game menu offers DLSS, FSR, or another compatible option, begin with a quality-oriented mode. Use a more performance-focused mode only if you need additional headroom, and check that characters and effects remain clear.
- Lower render scale only if needed. This can cost image sharpness, so evaluate it after the high-cost settings and upscaler. Make a modest adjustment, then check readability during combat.
- Consider latency options for your setup. The same PC guide recommends disabling VSync to reduce latency and enabling NVIDIA Reflex where available. These are options to test, not universal requirements; keep the configuration that behaves best with your hardware and display.
Do not assume frame generation is equivalent to rendering every frame natively, or that it will improve latency in every setup. Marvel Rivals’ February 20, 2025 patch notes documented DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation for RTX 50 Series GPUs, AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 support for RX 5000 series and newer (with best results in GPU-limited scenarios), and an FSR3 frame-generation pacing fix. These are dated implementation notes, not confirmation that every feature remains available or suitable in every current configuration: official patch notes.
Console modes: resolution versus frame rate
A May 16, 2025 TechRadar Gaming guide describes a tradeoff between higher resolution at 60 FPS and a lower-resolution high-frame-rate (HFR) mode targeting up to 120 FPS. Treat those details as source-dated: mode names and availability can change, so check the current game options for your platform.

The guide says a 120Hz-capable display is needed for the 120 FPS HFR modes it describes. A display alone cannot add a mode that the game or console does not offer; check the supported inputs and refresh rates of the whole display chain before buying hardware.
Diagnose PC stuttering before upgrading
Marvel Rivals’ official FAQ recommends reducing graphics settings when performance is slow, updating the graphics driver, and assigning the game high-performance mode in Windows. If stuttering persists, work through these checks:

- Lower graphics settings. The FAQ gives texture quality as an example. If your frame rate is below target, also test the lighting, reflections, and upscaling adjustments above.
- Update or reinstall the GPU driver. The FAQ recommends installing the latest graphics driver, preferably with a clean installation.
- Set Windows graphics preference. In Windows, open Settings → System → Display → Graphics, select Marvel Rivals, and choose High performance. The label and available choices can vary by Windows setup.
- Check the published system requirements. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee a particular frame rate at your resolution or settings. If slowdowns continue, the FAQ advises contacting support.
The FAQ lists Windows 10 64-bit (version 1909 or later), an Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, 16 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060, RX 580, or Intel Arc A380, DirectX 12, and 70 GB of storage as minimum PC specifications. Its recommended CPU examples are an Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X; recommended graphics examples are an RTX 2060 (Super), RX 5700-XT, or Intel Arc A750. These are published requirements, not benchmarks or a promise of FPS for a particular configuration. The FAQ also recommends an SSD “for better experience”; it does not claim that SSD installation increases in-match frame rates.

- Prioritize responsiveness: reduce costly visual options on PC or try HFR on a compatible console and display, if currently available.
- Prioritize image quality: retain higher-quality settings or use a console mode designed around higher resolution, accepting a lower frame-rate target where applicable.
- Keep the whole system in view: results depend on whether the CPU or GPU is limiting performance, as well as resolution, driver, game version, and display refresh rate.
The cited guides do not establish a reproducible FPS increase for these adjustments across defined hardware. Avoid relying on a promised number: compare your own system at the same resolution and in similar gameplay before and after a change.
