A November 29, 2024 report said NetEase had released a web-based Marvel Rivals hero ability dossier and that the game had gone gold, about a week before its scheduled December 6 launch. The report described the page as covering launch characters’ lore, powers, health, and movement speed. The original announcement and dossier could not be independently confirmed, so those details should be treated as the report’s account—not as a complete or current hero guide.
What the reported Marvel Rivals dossier contained
Befenn.com’s November 29, 2024 article described an online page with information about each launch character, including lore, abilities, health, and movement speed. It did not establish that those were the page’s only fields or provide a verified, complete set of hero statistics. The original social post or a surviving official version of the dossier is not available to confirm the report independently.
That limitation matters if you are looking for specific ability descriptions or numbers: the report is a historical account, not a dependable reference for present-day kits. Marvel Rivals is a live-service game, and later changes can make launch-era details obsolete.
How hero roles and Team-Up Abilities fit the context
In prelaunch material, NetEase described three roles: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. It also highlighted Team-Up Abilities, which let allies combine powers. Those categories help explain why a launch-era dossier organized around individual heroes’ kits and stats would have been useful: players could learn not only what a character does, but how that character might contribute to a team.

For any current comparison of heroes, check role, range, mobility, survivability, and team utility against the same patch date. Those factors make a more useful comparison than relying on an undated launch-era stat page.
What “gone gold” meant—and what it did not
The November 29 report said Marvel Rivals had gone gold, meaning the game was considered ready for release. It did not mean development or balance changes would stop after launch. An official Season 10 update published September 9, 2026, documented a rework of Scarlet Witch’s abilities and gameplay, demonstrating that hero mechanics continued to change after release.

Launch date, platforms, and hero availability
Marvel Rivals launched on December 6, 2024. Its official launch announcement listed Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, the Epic Games Store, and the game’s official website as places to play. NetEase had described the game as free to play and said all heroes would be unlocked and free at launch and beyond. That statement concerns the game and hero availability; it does not establish that every optional item or piece of content is free.
