What does the 10 million figure mean?
NetEase reported the milestone in its fiscal 2024 results, published in February 2025. Its wording was “registered users,” so it describes people who registered during the launch period; it is not a count of people playing simultaneously or an independently verified measure of active players. When and where did Marvel Rivals launch?
The free-to-play team-based PvP shooter launched on December 6, 2024. NetEase’s launch announcement listed Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games Store, and the game’s official website as launch channels. What happened after the launch milestone?
In the same fiscal 2024 results, NetEase said Marvel Rivals had surpassed 40 million users to date. The company also reported that Season 1, released in January 2025, brought another surge and that the game reached No. 1 on Steam’s global top-sellers and most-played charts. These are historical company-reported claims, not a live player count or a current ranking.

Was the game free to play, or did purchases affect gameplay?
Before launch, the development team said the game would be free to download and that heroes, maps, and gameplay elements would be free. Its announced paid items were cosmetic: the team said they would change appearance without providing stat bonuses or pay-to-win advantages. It described LATTICE as premium currency and UNITS as exchangeable for LATTICE at a 1:1 ratio; it also said some UNITS could be earned through the Battle Pass, achievements, and events. Does the milestone show how popular Marvel Rivals is today?
No. The 10-million figure is a launch-period registration milestone, and the later 40-million figure is a historical user total reported by NetEase in February 2025. Neither establishes how many people currently play, how many are online at once, or how activity is divided by platform. The cited official materials do not provide a current player total.

Was a Marvel Rivals soundtrack released on vinyl?
NetEase announced that the official Galactic Tunes soundtrack would be available on music-streaming services and that limited vinyl was available for pre-order.
