Marvel Rivals Season 2 start time: what happened on launch day
NetEase announced Season 2 on April 3, 2025, with an April 11 launch date. Its April 8 patch notes scheduled maintenance for 2:00 a.m. PDT on April 11 and estimated a two-to-three-hour downtime. In its live coverage, TechRadar first estimated access at 5:00 a.m. PDT, then later reported “Season 2 is live!” and listed the start time as 4:00 a.m. PDT. What Season 2: Hellfire Gala added
Season 2 was titled Hellfire Gala and was designed as a three-month season split into two halves: Emma Frost arrived in the first half, with Ultron planned for the second. Emma Frost joins as a Vanguard
Emma Frost debuted as a Vanguard. NetEase described her as a telepath who can use diamond abilities in combat. The launch coverage characterized her kit as mixing protective or shielding options with close-range diamond-form combat and an ultimate; those details are the coverage’s description, while the official role and broad abilities are from NetEase.
Krakoa, missions and seasonal rewards
The update added Hellfire Gala: Krakoa, a Domination map, and introduced it to Competitive rotation. It also brought a new Battle Pass with ten costume sets, the Cerebro Database event, weekly missions, and adjustments to missions and rewards. Optional Razer haptics and lighting
The season added optional Razer Sensa HD Haptics and Chroma integrations; these peripherals are not required to play. NetEase named the Razer Freyja gaming cushion and Kraken V4 Pro headset as supported devices, as well as the Wolverine V3 Pro wireless controller on PC. The publisher described the integration as having more than 600 haptic feedback effects and over 300 Chroma RGB effects. On PC, an experimental shader-compilation mode was described as reducing memory use and minimizing stuttering.
