Marvel Rivals Season 2 launched on April 11, 2025, with hero balance changes published in an official post on April 4. This guide lists those launch adjustments by role, including mixed changes and new or removed Team-Ups. The broader April 11 patch also introduced content and system changes; later April 30 and May 30 updates were separate patches, not part of the launch balance list. These notes are historical, not a statement of current balance in October 2026.

Season 2 launch balance notes at a glance

The official April 4, 2025 balance post is the source for the hero and Team-Up changes below. Season 2 itself began April 11. Many adjustments traded one strength for another, so the entries are described by their actual effects rather than labeled simply as buffs or nerfs. Official Marvel Rivals news

Team-Up abilities: additions, changes, and removals

New Team-Ups

The launch balance post added Arcane Order (Doctor Strange–Scarlet Witch), Stars Aligned (Captain America–Winter Soldier), and Mental Projection (Emma Frost with Psylocke or Magneto). Doctor Strange, Captain America, and Emma Frost each receive a 100 maximum-health increase as the relevant anchor; Captain America also gains 5% damage through Stars Aligned. Adjusted or removed Team-Ups

  • Ammo Overload: Winter Soldier no longer receives Infinite Grit.
  • Chilling Charisma: Namor’s Frozen Spawn was removed.
  • Dimensional Shortcut: Psylocke’s Psionic Disc was removed.

  • Voltaic Union: Removed along with its anchor effect, Captain America’s Charged Aegis, and Storm’s Charged Gale.

What else changed in the April 11 Season 2 patch?

The separate April 8 release notes cover more than hero balance. They scheduled maintenance for April 11 and announced Emma Frost, the Hellfire Gala: Krakoa Domination map, and that map’s entry into the Competitive pool. Yggsgard: Royal Palace and Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya left ranked rotation; Quick Match and Custom Game retained all maps. Official Marvel Rivals patch notes and announcements

Later Season 2 updates are separate

The April 30, 2025 update was a follow-up patch. Among other items, it recalibrated baseline data for hero performance scores using the latest Season 2.0 data; it also included an event, store items, costume optimizations, and fixes. Official Marvel Rivals update notes

Season 2.5 began May 30, 2025. Its May 23 announcement covered Ultron, the Hellfire Gala: Arakko Convoy map, events, systems, and cosmetics. The developer overview said the update added six Team-Ups, removed four, and adjusted one, and described more than half of Team-Ups as revamped since Season 0. Those changes belong to Season 2.5, not the April 11 launch balance list. Official Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 overview

Are these the current Marvel Rivals balance changes?

No. The values above document the April 2025 launch balance post, with later Season 2 updates identified separately. They do not establish current hero tuning or the live competitive meta in October 2026. For present-day balance, use the game’s latest official update notes rather than treating these historical values as current.
