The launch video description from creator Maximilian Dood described the project as a free labor of love made by nearly 40 people over eight months. Those are the creator’s figures, not independently audited totals. The launch video also places the December 20 date in 2024, so it is a past launch date, not an upcoming release.

The project site notes that the latest Steam update requires both Patch 1.1 and Patch 1.1b for full Cross Frenzy Mode functionality. Because installation and patch directions can change, consult the project site’s current instructions rather than relying on an older guide.
What do you need to play it?
- A PC copy of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on Steam. The mod’s compatibility statement specifies the Steam version only.
- The base game, purchased separately. The mod is free to download but is not a standalone game.
- Optional DLC costumes, if desired. The project says owners receive added content, but DLC purchases are not required.
Capcom describes the original game as a 2v2 Marvel-versus-Capcom fighter built around six Infinity Stones, with single-player content and online multiplayer. Does it work on consoles?
No console compatibility is stated for Infinite & Beyond: the project specifies the Steam version for PC. Capcom announced the original Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but that platform list applies to the original game—not this fan mod. Capcom’s 2016 announcement gives the original game’s platforms.
