What the SPM, SPE, and MAR codes mean
Wizards’ collecting guide identifies SPM as the main set code and SPE and MAR as associated set codes. These codes matter when checking which cards belong to the main set and when looking up their release-era format legality.

Products and card treatments
Wizards listed Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Bundles, Gift Bundles, and Scene Boxes among the set’s launch products. The collecting guide gave the following 2025 U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail prices; these are historical MSRPs, not current retail prices.
| Product | 2025 U.S. MSRP | Relevant detail |
|---|---|---|
| Play Booster | $6.99 (Wizards of the Coast, 2025) | Contains cards from SPM and MAR; cards from these packs can be used for Marvel’s Spider-Man Draft and Sealed. |
| Collector Booster | $37.99 (Wizards of the Coast, 2025) | The only booster type with textured foil costume-change cards. |
| Bundle | $69.99 (Wizards of the Coast, 2025) | Listed as a set product; the guide’s cited detail does not establish a distinct card treatment for it. |
| Gift Bundle | $89.99 (Wizards of the Coast, 2025) | Listed as a set product; the guide’s cited detail does not establish a distinct card treatment for it. |
| Scene Box | $41.99 (Wizards of the Coast, 2025) | Listed as a set product; the guide’s cited detail does not establish a distinct card treatment for it. |
Costume-change cards are a special treatment rather than a promise that a pack contains a particular character. Wizards says Spectacular Spider-Man has seven costume-change variants as well as an eighth version in the main set. Textured foil versions are exclusive to Collector Boosters, but a randomized booster does not guarantee a specific card or treatment. Consult the gallery to compare the versions.

For readers focused on opening packs or drafting, Play Boosters are the product Wizards specifically identifies for Draft and Sealed. Collector Boosters are the relevant option for access to the exclusive textured foil costume-change treatment; availability of any specific card remains random. Check retailers for current prices and stock, since the stated MSRPs are from 2025.

Wizards’ collecting guide described SPM as Standard-legal at release, while SPE and MAR were Commander-, Legacy-, and Vintage-legal. It also noted that individual cards could be legal in other formats where those cards were already available. These are release-era statements, not a guarantee of current legality; check an up-to-date official legality source before building a deck.
