ATLUS describes Metaphor: ReFantazio as a fantasy RPG built around a royal tournament to choose a new king. Its feature description includes travel and exploration, anime cutscenes, turn-based combat blended with real-time action, and party customization through Archetypes. The day-and-night schedule asks players to choose how to spend time between quests and dungeons, relationships, and developing virtues.
