If Rome is missing from your map list, the most likely explanation is that the map has not been released for your build—not that a download failed.
Check the installed game version and your platform’s update queue, fully relaunch the game, and reopen map selection. Those steps can reveal a released map that has not refreshed correctly, but they cannot unlock a map that is not part of the installed content.

Is the Mini Motorways Rome map officially out?
No official release record confirms a Rome map at the time of writing, October 19, 2026. The Apple App Store version history records Cape Town as “the first of four maps on our 2026 update roadmap.” Earlier entries name Copenhagen, Cairns, Vancouver, Reykjavík, Istanbul and Hong Kong, but none identifies Rome. The same notes say Creative Mode is available on every map you have already unlocked.

Therefore, there is currently nothing to unlock through a hidden button, profile level or paid add-on. Treat Rome as unavailable until Dinosaur Polo Club announces it and a dated platform build includes it.
Why Rome can be missing from your map list
The map has not been released
This is the leading explanation. Mini Motorways maps arrive in dated game updates. If the official notes for your platform do not include Rome, reinstalling the game or changing modes will not add it. A map-selection screen can display only content included in the installed build and made available to the account or profile.
Your platform still has an older build
Steam, Apple devices and consoles can receive the same game update at different times, or leave an update waiting in a queue. A store page that says the game is installed does not always mean the newest build has finished downloading. Check the game’s version and the platform’s release notes rather than relying on the date of your last play session.
The game has not refreshed after updating
An update can finish while Mini Motorways remains suspended in memory. In that state, the running session can continue to show the previous map list. Fully quit the game, restart the device if necessary, and open the map-selection screen again.

Unofficial material looks like an announcement
Fan videos, mod pages, thumbnail art and search-result snippets may use “Rome” in a title even when the material is speculative or community-made. They are not evidence of an official map. Verify a release through Dinosaur Polo Club’s own announcement and the dated store listing for your platform.
You are checking a mode or profile that cannot add maps
Creative Mode works on maps already unlocked; it does not unlock maps that are absent from the build. Switching from Normal to Creative, changing a profile or opening a different save can change available options, but none of those actions creates unreleased content.

Confirm your platform and installed build
Open the Mini Motorways page in the store or library where you own the game. Look for an Update, download queue or pending-install notice. If an update is offered, install it completely before launching the game. If the page shows Play or Open, check the installed version number in the game’s information or settings screen and compare it with the dated release notes shown by that platform.

- Steam: Open the game’s Library page, check the Downloads queue, and wait for any Mini Motorways content to finish installing before pressing Play.
- Consoles: Open the installed-games library, select Mini Motorways, and use the platform’s check-for-updates command. Keep the console connected until the download and installation complete.
A current build proves only that you have the latest released content for that platform. It does not prove that Rome exists; the release notes must name the map.

Fully quit and relaunch
Exit Mini Motorways rather than leaving it suspended or in the background. Launch it again and open the map-selection screen. If the store reported an update but the old list remains, restart the device once, then start the game again. This refreshes cached menus and is safe to try, but it cannot add an unreleased map.

Open the normal map-selection screen
Return to the game’s map list instead of looking only at a saved challenge, a Creative Mode picker or a profile summary. Look for a newly released map tile among the maps your profile has unlocked. The official notes describe Creative Mode as available across all maps already unlocked, so a missing tile in the standard list will also be unavailable in Creative Mode.

Separate an account or unlock issue from a release issue
Check that you are using the profile and account that normally contain your unlocked maps. If other previously unlocked maps are also missing, the problem may be a profile, synchronization or account-selection issue. If every known map is present and only Rome is absent, that pattern is consistent with Rome not being part of the build rather than with a failed download.

Verify the announcement before trying drastic repairs
Check Dinosaur Polo Club’s official update information and your platform’s release notes for a named Rome release. Do not treat a video, mod listing or search result as confirmation. Avoid deleting saves or reinstalling solely to obtain Rome; no official record currently shows a Rome package that a reinstall could retrieve.

Contact support when a released map is genuinely missing
If Dinosaur Polo Club has announced a map, your platform shows the corresponding update installed, and the map still does not appear, contact the developer at [email protected]. Steam’s official support entry identifies Dinosaur Polo Club as the developer and publisher and lists that address for technical issues.
Include the platform, device and operating-system version, installed Mini Motorways version, account or profile details that are safe to share, a screenshot of the map list, and the exact steps you already tried. State whether other recently released maps appear. This lets support distinguish a missing-content bug from an update that has not actually installed.
How Mini Motorways map updates are delivered
The release history shows a versioned-update model rather than a separately evidenced Rome download. A map is delivered in a dated platform build, then appears in the game’s map-selection system according to the profile’s unlock state. The 2025 Apple notes refer to 23 maps and explain that Creative Mode can be used on every map unlocked so far. That wording matters: Creative Mode expands how you play an available map; it is not a catalogue of unreleased maps.
The 2026 roadmap provides four update windows, not a guaranteed list of four specific map names. Cape Town is identified as the first map on that roadmap. Until a later entry names Rome and the relevant build is published, there is no official release to troubleshoot.

What not to do
- Do not assume a missing tile means a corrupt installation. If Rome has not been released, no local repair can make it appear.
- Do not buy or search for a Rome DLC. No official Rome add-on is evidenced in the current update record.
- Do not delete saves first. Reinstalling can introduce save-management risks and still cannot add content that is not in the build.
- Do not use a mod as proof of an official map. Mods and fan projects can use names and artwork that resemble official material.
- Do not rely on a single search snippet. Snippets can be stale, incomplete or generated from unofficial pages; use the dated platform notes and Dinosaur Polo Club announcements.

Support can investigate a real missing released map more quickly when the report separates facts from assumptions. Describe the exact path you used to reach the map list, identify which known maps are visible, and attach a screenshot with personal information hidden. Mention whether you fully quit, restarted the device and checked the platform’s update queue.
