Warhammer Community’s 14 October 2026 preview introduces three Khazalite Holds Armies of Renown, each designed to combine the new duardin with a different collection: Khazalite Holds themselves, Fyreslayers, or Kharadron Overlords. Choose Valankrom’s War Throng for a centerpiece-led bodyguard force, Fyrd of Fyrepeak if you already collect Fyreslayers, or Throngankor Alliance for skyvessel transport and ranged support. All three sets of rules are included in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Khazalite Holds Battletome; the models and collection requirements differ by army.
What are the three Khazalite Holds Armies of Renown?
The preview presents three named options rather than one universal way to add Khazalite units. Their strongest abilities point toward different collections and battlefield plans.

| Throngankor Alliance | Kharadron Overlords | Transport, paired-unit resilience and ranged support | Combining Khazalite and Kharadron units through Stone and Sky, Transport Duardin, and Hammer and Anvil |
The common purchase is the battletome. Your additional miniature needs depend on which alliance matches the army you already own.
How does Valankrom’s War Throng work?
Valankrom’s War Throng makes High Kyng Valankrom the defensive and rules centre of the army. Gholems act as his bodyguards, while Clanshields and Valayan Guardians support the force around that central model.

Wrongdoers turn damage into a grudge
When an enemy unit damages Valankrom, he can mark that unit as a wrongdoer. Friendly Valankrom’s War Throng units are treated as having one grudge mark while fighting a wrongdoer, allowing the army’s grudge mechanics to matter immediately against the unit that attacked its leader.

Which Khazalite Holds Army of Renown fits my Fyreslayers army?
Fyrd of Fyrepeak is the natural match for an established Fyreslayers collection. Its rules reward you for finishing enemy units and then converting that momentum into stronger grudge effects and rune bursts.
How grudge marks accumulate
Each time a friendly Fyrd of Fyrepeak unit destroys an enemy unit, it receives one grudge mark. The Foeseeker heroic trait adds a priority target: it names an enemy HERO as a nemesis and can spread grudge marks after that nemesis is destroyed.
How the Ur-gold abilities are timed
The army has five once-per-battle UR-GOLD RUNE abilities. The previewed Rune of Speed lets friendly Fyrd of Fyrepeak units reroll run rolls and charge rolls for the rest of the battle round. You can use it only if no other UR-GOLD RUNE ability has been used during that round, so choosing when to spend a rune is part of the army’s planning rather than a free, repeatable bonus.

Can Kharadron Overlords and Khazalite Holds ride together in a skyvessel?
Yes. Throngankor Alliance explicitly lets eligible Khazalite infantry embark on Kharadron skyvessels, creating the most mobile and combined-arms-focused of the three choices.
Stone and Sky
Stone and Sky pairs one non-HERO Khazalite Holds infantry unit with one non-HERO Kharadron Overlords infantry unit. While the two units remain within one-half inch of each other, attacks that target them subtract one from wound rolls. The pairing rewards keeping the allied infantry close instead of spreading them across the battlefield.

Transport Duardin
Eligible infantry can embark on a Kharadron skyvessel during its move. They can later disembark wholly within six inches of the vessel and cannot be in combat when they do so. A unit that disembarks this way cannot charge in that turn, so transport provides repositioning and objective access rather than an automatic charge setup.

Hammer and Anvil
Hammer and Anvil designates one unit in combat as the anvil while a different-faction unit out of combat acts as the hammer. For the rest of the turn, the hammer’s ranged attacks gain Crit (2 Hits) against the anvil’s enemy workpiece. The rule therefore asks you to coordinate a unit holding an enemy in place with an allied shooter that is still free to fire.

What is in the Khazalite Holds battletome, and what else must I buy?
The preview says all three Armies of Renown appear in the new Khazalite Holds battletome, making that book the shared rules purchase. It does not make the three armies interchangeable collections: Valankrom’s option centres on Khazalite units, Fyrd of Fyrepeak is aimed at Fyreslayers, and Throngankor needs Kharadron elements to use its alliance rules fully.
The same announcement said the Khazalite Holds Army Set would go up for preorder on the Saturday after publication, which was 17 October 2026. That was a launch announcement, not a guarantee of current stock, edition, price or retailer availability. Check the live listing before buying, especially if you are deciding between starting an Army Set and adding only the battletome to an existing duardin army.

- Start with the collection you already own. Khazalite models point to Valankrom’s War Throng, Fyreslayers to Fyrd of Fyrepeak, and Kharadron Overlords to Throngankor Alliance.
- Decide whether your army needs a centerpiece, momentum or mobility. Valankrom’s force protects and retaliates around its leader; Fyrd rewards destruction and careful rune sequencing; Throngankor links infantry and shooting through movement and positioning.
- Count the models required for the rules you want to use. The battletome is common, but the extra units, Gholems, Fyreslayer models or Kharadron skyvessel and infantry are not.
- Confirm the current product listing. The Army Set’s preorder timing came from the 14 October announcement; current stock and pricing can change.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a complete second duardin army to use one of these Armies of Renown?
The preview identifies a collection focus for each option but does not publish a full minimum-model shopping list. In practice, plan around the units named by the army’s rules and verify the battletome’s roster requirements before purchasing duplicates.
Does Throngankor Alliance require a Kharadron skyvessel?
The alliance’s transport rule only functions with a Kharadron skyvessel, but the preview does not state that every legal Throngankor force must include one. A skyvessel is therefore the key purchase for the transport plan, not a detail to assume without checking the battletome’s army construction rules.
Are points costs or win rates available for the new Armies of Renown?
The 14 October 2026 preview supplies rules examples and unit-profile figures, but no points, tournament results, participation data or win-rate statistics. Those figures should be taken from the current game documents or later published results rather than inferred from the preview.
