A laptop component with the same model name can have different power limits, cooling and performance, so the desktop comparison is not a guarantee for a notebook. The specifications apply at launch and may be revised; mandatory updates can also increase the free-space requirement.
Can my PC run Modern Warfare 4 at the minimum level?

How much SSD space does Modern Warfare 4 need?
The launch specification calls for 115 GB of available space on an SSD. Because that is free space rather than the drive’s advertised capacity, a drive that is nearly full can fail the installation or a later patch even if its label appears large enough.

A 1TB internal SSD is a sensible capacity for the game and Windows while leaving working room for mandatory updates and other applications. Before buying one, verify the motherboard’s interface and slot type, the case’s mounting options and the power supply’s connectors. Activision warns that updates may require more storage than the launch figure.
Are TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot mandatory?
Yes. Activision states that TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required to play Modern Warfare 4. They are firmware and operating-system security conditions, separate from the game’s graphics settings.
On a modern desktop, these options are normally enabled in UEFI firmware. If the game reports a security failure, enter the motherboard’s UEFI setup, confirm that firmware TPM (often shown as AMD fTPM or Intel PTT) is active, and check that the machine is booting in UEFI mode with Secure Boot enabled. Changing boot mode on an existing installation can make Windows unbootable if the system was installed in legacy mode, so back up important data and verify the disk layout before changing that setting.

What launch problems was Activision tracking?
Activision’s October 23 known-issues tracker listed four PC-relevant problems. They are service issues, not evidence that a particular hardware tier is unsupported.
- Multiplayer loadouts: some players could not save loadout changes.
- Combat Record and Leaderboards: statistics could be hidden on screen even while the game continued tracking them.
- Xbox on PC launch button: some users did not see the button needed to start the game. Activision advised checking the Microsoft Store device limit and installing any missing content packs.
- DMZ Operator prestige: some Operators could not be prestiged. The tracker reported that some players succeeded after equipping Rare weapons with only three attachment slots.
These entries can change as fixes roll out. Check the current known-issues tracker before reinstalling Windows or replacing hardware for a symptom already under investigation.

Activision identifies launch crashes and public-Multiplayer crashes as common categories to investigate. Start with software and configuration checks before assuming the computer is underpowered.
- Confirm that the PC meets every item in the minimum specification, including SSD space and the security requirements.
- Install the recommended graphics-card driver, then restart Windows.
- Close overlays, recording software, input-remapping tools and other background applications that can hook into the game.
- Test again with conservative graphics settings and without nonessential overlays.
- If the failure persists, use Activision’s PC crash-report route and include the crash type, Windows version and hardware details.
A crash during launch points first to drivers, security settings, installation files or conflicting software; a crash that appears only in public multiplayer may also coincide with a live service issue. Do not infer a defective GPU solely from one crash report.
