To have your Palico use catlike Felyne vocalizations instead of human-language speech in Monster Hunter Wilds, open the Palico customization screen and enable Felyne Language. If you have already created your Palico, PC Gamer reports that you can return to the Palico edit screen from the main menu and change the setting there.
How to switch your Palico to Felyne Language
- Open the Palico customization or edit screen.
- Find and enable Felyne Language.
- If your Palico is already created, use the main-menu route to return to the Palico edit screen, as reported by PC Gamer.
Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds Official Online Manual confirms that you can choose whether your Palico speaks human or Felyne language. The exact menu navigation may vary by platform or game version; the available instructions do not establish one universal button-by-button path.

What Felyne Language changes
This setting changes the Palico’s speech language: choose Felyne Language for Felyne vocalizations instead of human-language speech. The manual describes a language choice, not a mute option, and does not specify every cutscene’s vocalizations or subtitle behavior.

Human-language speech is an intentional part of the character. In its pre-release description, PlayStation.Blog said, “The Palico speaks the same language as humans and will greatly support and aid you on your adventures.” Switch to Felyne Language if you prefer catlike sounds; keep human-language speech if you want the Palico’s dialogue in human language.
