What Moonflesh is and when it can drop
Moonflesh is the temporary currency used by Epoch Operation: Taubound. It is not a normal planetary resource that can be collected anywhere on the Star Chart. During the operation, Digital Extremes ties Moonflesh activity to Eris missions and to the operation’s rotating Tactical Alerts.

That wording describes two different reward systems. Completing an Eris mission grants a fixed operation reward, while eligible Infested enemies have a separate chance to drop Moonflesh during the mission. A run can therefore finish with the mission reward even when individual enemies produce no visible currency.

The Alert rewards are the most predictable option because they are fixed. Ordinary enemy drops are useful as extra income during an Eris mission, but they are not guaranteed for every kill. The official announcement does not publish a guaranteed Moonflesh-per-minute rate, so mission length, enemy density and Alert timing cannot be converted into a reliable farming figure.

You are outside Eris
Moonflesh farming is tied to Eris activity. Killing Infested enemies on another planet, in a normal mission elsewhere on the Star Chart or in unrelated content does not satisfy the event’s location rule. Open the Star Chart and verify that the node you selected is on Eris before launching.

The operation is not active
Moonflesh is temporary. The announced operation window runs from October 15 through November 17, 2026. A mission started after the event ends cannot be expected to award the currency. The same check applies if you are playing after a hotfix or schedule change: look for the current event notice in the game before spending time on a farming route.
You are killing Maggots
The forum announcement specifically says “Maggots not included.” Maggots do not qualify for the enemy-drop rule, so killing them will not produce the 2-Moonflesh or 3-Moonflesh Steel Path drop. Infested missions can contain many small units, making this easy to miss when a pack is cleared quickly. Focus on other eligible Infested enemies rather than judging the system from Maggot kills.
You expect every enemy to pay out
Enemy drops are chance-based. The documented amount is 2 Moonflesh per successful drop on the normal path and 3 on Steel Path, not 2 or 3 for every enemy defeated. A short extermination segment can legitimately show no enemy currency even when the event is working correctly. Continue through a longer Eris mission or use a Tactical Alert when one is available if you need a guaranteed bundle.
You are looking only for a pickup during a mission
There are two reward moments to watch. Enemy drops can appear while you fight, but the mission-completion reward is a fixed operation payout associated with finishing the Eris mission. If you leave early, fail the mission or do not complete its objective, you should not treat the run as a completed fixed-reward attempt. Finish the objective and check the post-mission reward screen for the operation currency.

You are relying on a resource booster
Moonflesh is classified as Operation Currency, and the event announcement states that resource boosters do not affect it. A booster will not change a successful enemy drop from 2 to 4, will not change the Steel Path amount from 3 to 6 and will not double the fixed 50- or 75-Moonflesh Alert reward. Activating a normal resource booster therefore does not solve a missing-drop problem.
You have not completed Vor’s Prize
During the operation, completing Vor’s Prize is the stated access threshold for Eris. The normal Junction requirements are lifted for this event, but the introductory quest requirement still applies. If Eris is unavailable or the operation content does not appear on your account, complete Vor’s Prize first, then return to the Star Chart and check the Eris nodes again.
A crowd-control effect may be hiding a drop
A current Warframe Forums report describes cases in which Khora’s Strangledome or Zephyr’s Tornado appeared to reduce or prevent visible Moonflesh drops from enemies caught in ragdoll effects. This is a player report, not a confirmed Digital Extremes mechanic or a published fix. It should be treated as an unconfirmed interaction rather than proof that either ability always blocks currency.
If your run reliably produces no visible enemy drops while one of those effects is active, repeat a comparable Eris mission without the effect. Keep the location, difficulty and enemy type as similar as possible, then compare the results. If the behavior changes, record the mission, frame, ability, enemy and difficulty and report it through the official support or forum channels. Do not assume that a single empty run establishes a bug, because the underlying drop chance can also produce a dry streak.

How to farm Moonflesh reliably
Step 1: Confirm access and event status
- Complete Vor’s Prize if it is not already complete.
- Open the Star Chart and select an Eris node.
- Check the operation notice and confirm that Epoch Operation: Taubound is still within its announced October 15-November 17, 2026 window.
- Look at the Tactical Alert list before starting a routine mission; an active Alert has a fixed Moonflesh reward.
Step 2: Choose certainty over convenience when necessary
Use a Tactical Alert when you need a known amount by a deadline. A normal Alert pays 50 Moonflesh, and its Steel Path version pays 75. The reward is fixed, so it does not depend on how many eligible enemies spawn or whether the chance-based drop triggers.
Use ordinary Eris missions when you want to combine the fixed mission-completion payout with possible enemy drops. The announcement does not state the fixed amount for each Eris mission, so select a mission you can complete consistently rather than assuming that a particular node has a published superior rate.
Step 3: Decide whether Steel Path is worthwhile
Steel Path raises the documented enemy-drop amount from 2 to 3 Moonflesh and raises the fixed Tactical Alert reward from 50 to 75. It does not turn the enemy drop into a guaranteed payout. Choose it only when the added difficulty does not reduce your completion speed or reliability. A failed or abandoned run is a poor trade for a larger amount that never reaches your account.

Step 4: Prioritize eligible enemies
During an Eris mission, remember that Maggots are excluded. Other Infested enemies can trigger the chance-based drop, so do not use Maggot-heavy sections as your only test of whether Moonflesh is working. If you are evaluating a build or a possible crowd-control interaction, observe several eligible enemy groups rather than one isolated encounter.

Step 5: Finish the mission and verify the reward
Complete the objective and inspect the mission results. This confirms whether the fixed Eris completion reward was granted, even if you saw no individual pickups. For Alerts, verify that the Alert itself was completed and that the fixed bundle appears in the results. Recording the total before and after a run can help separate a missing pickup from a chance-based run that simply produced no enemy drops.

Resource boosters
No. The event announcement identifies Moonflesh as Operation Currency and says resource boosters do not affect it. The documented 2-Moonflesh normal drop, 3-Moonflesh Steel Path drop and fixed Alert rewards remain those amounts when a resource booster is active.
Nekros and other loot manipulation
The published event guidance specifies the enemy eligibility, chance-based behavior and booster exception, but it does not state that Nekros’s loot abilities or another frame’s loot manipulation increases Moonflesh. Do not promise yourself extra currency from a Nekros setup based on how ordinary resource tables work. Treat any interaction with Nekros or other loot abilities as unconfirmed unless Digital Extremes publishes a specific rule.
If you test a loot ability, use controlled comparisons: the same Eris node, the same difficulty, similar enemy groups and enough runs to account for random chance. A single run cannot establish an increase because enemy drops are not guaranteed. The official numbers remain the baseline until an explicit event rule says otherwise.

Think of the choice as certainty versus flexibility. An Alert is the better answer when you need a guaranteed bundle and can play during its active window. A regular Eris mission is more flexible for general play and can add enemy drops, but its individual-kill payout is inherently variable.
