MSI announced the MEG 271Q at CES 2022 as a 27-inch, 2560×1440 Mini LED gaming monitor with a reported 300Hz refresh rate. That makes it a striking announced specification combination, but the available evidence confirms the announcement—not that the model shipped or is currently for sale. The “first” label should be read in the narrower context of MSI’s CES 2022 announcement, not as a verified market-wide first-to-ship claim.
What did MSI announce about the MEG 271Q?
MSI’s January 7, 2022, regional announcement coverage described the MEG 271Q as a 27-inch WQHD monitor with a 2560×1440 resolution, Mini LED backlighting and a 300Hz refresh rate. The same coverage reported a Rapid IPS panel and a 1ms response time. These are announcement-era product claims, not independently measured results. MSI announcement coverage

The “first” wording applies to the way the monitor was presented in MSI’s CES 2022 announcement cycle: a 27-inch, 300Hz Rapid IPS Mini LED esports monitor. The available source does not establish that it was the first such monitor to reach stores across the market.

The 300Hz figure describes the announced maximum refresh rate; it does not by itself establish motion clarity, input latency or how the monitor performs in games. Likewise, the HDR certification and coverage figures are reported specifications, not a substitute for independent testing. The announcement coverage does not provide a complete connection list or test conditions for the response-time claim.

Did the MSI MEG 271Q ever come out?
The available announcement coverage says that price and availability had not been announced at the time. It does not establish whether the MEG 271Q later reached retail, and current inventory or pricing for this exact model is unverified. Treat it as an announced product unless a seller or MSI listing in your region confirms the exact model is available.
How does it compare with MSI’s other 300Hz Mini LED monitor?
MSI’s current product page documents the MAG 274QPF X30MV, a separate 27-inch, 2560×1440, 300Hz Mini LED monitor. It shares the MEG 271Q’s headline size, resolution, backlight category and refresh rate, but it uses Rapid VA rather than Rapid IPS. MSI lists 1,152 local-dimming zones and a minimum 0.5ms GtG response time for the MAG. These are the manufacturer’s listed specifications, not independent test results. - Quality Visuals: The KG271U 27" IPS monitor with 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio presents stunning, high-quality images with excellent detail. The zero-frame design does away with the thick frames found on conventional monitors freeing up precious screen space.
- AMD FreeSync Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provide the smoothest gaming experience.
- Up to 180Hz: The 180Hz refresh rate speeds up the frames per second to deliver an ultra-smooth 2D motion scene. With a rapid refresh rate of up to 180Hz, Acer Gaming Monitors shorten the time it takes for frame rendering, lower input lag and provide gamers an excellent in-game experience.
- Responsive!!: Up to 0.5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time enhanced gamers’ in-game experience. No matter the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be all rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting with KG271U Gaming Monitor.
- New Depths of Color Accuracy: is monitor is ideal for color-critical projects producing accurate colors, supporting DCI-P3 95%. An amazing monitor for graphic designers, photographers, and film editors.
