Warner Bros. Games ended the game’s online service after Season 5, and the official game listing confirms the game was permanently taken offline and delisted on May 30, 2025. No router, DNS, or reinstall fix can bring back servers that no longer run.
Why every platform shows connection errors
The Season 5 FAQ from Warner Bros. Games Support states the change plainly: “After Season 5, MultiVersus will no longer be available to play online or download via the PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store.” Season 5 was the final season and ended on May 30, 2025. The official MultiVersus game listing on Discord records the same permanent shutdown and delisting date.
That means the connection error you see on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC is the game reporting that its online service is gone. The problem is on the publisher’s side, and it affects every platform in the same way. Because the game is delisted, a fresh download from a storefront is no longer an option either.
Troubleshooting steps that no longer apply
Standard connection fixes cannot restore online play. Skip the following:

- Restarting or resetting your router or modem.
- Switching from Wi-Fi to a wired Ethernet connection.
- Changing DNS settings on your console or PC.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game from the PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store.
- Buying a new Wi-Fi adapter, cable, or other networking hardware.
A controller can still be useful for local play, but no hardware purchase will change the outcome of an online connection attempt.
What still works offline
Offline access is limited to players who had already installed or downloaded the latest version and logged in during Season 5, before May 30, 2025. Eligible players can use these local modes:

- Local gameplay against AI.
- Local multiplayer with up to three other players.
- The Lab training mode, with all characters unlocked.
Offline access had to be set up on each platform separately. According to Warner Bros. Games, completing the download and login on a platform created a local save file tied to that platform’s store account. A save created on one console or PC does not carry over to another.

How durable offline access is
Warner Bros. Games said offline play would remain available “for the foreseeable future.” That is the publisher’s own wording, not a guarantee. The company does not promise that every storefront, device, account, or installation will keep working indefinitely. If an offline session stops launching, check the store account and platform that originally held the local save, since that is the only record the game was built around.

What to do now
If you still have a working installation from before May 30, 2025, play the offline modes listed above on the same platform and account where you originally logged in. If you do not, there is no current way to play MultiVersus online or to download it again through the official storefronts named by the publisher.
Keep this distinction in mind: a connection error means the online service has ended, not that your setup is broken.
