What caused the Pulemyot 762 underbarrel error?
The confirmed evidence is limited to player reports: the error appeared when players tried to select or equip an underbarrel attachment for the Pulemyot 762 through Gunsmith. GosuNoob’s guide, updated November 16, 2023, gives the message as “There Was an Error Reading the Current Match Rules Data” and describes the normal Gunsmith selection as the point of failure. PiunikaWeb reported on November 14, 2023, that players had encountered the problem in Multiplayer and Zombies. It quoted a contemporaneous player post by Jack Hudson (@huddy_rules): “Another quick bug. Unable to put an underbarrel attachment on the Pulemyot 762 LMG”. That post documents a player’s experience, not an official explanation of the cause. PiunikaWeb’s November 14, 2023 report
PiunikaWeb said developers had acknowledged the issue and that a fix was scheduled, citing the official Trello board. That report does not establish whether or when the specific error was ultimately resolved. The sources provide no named official explanation for its root cause.

What workaround was suggested in 2023?
GosuNoob suggested entering a match and equipping the underbarrel through the in-match loadout menu instead of selecting it in the usual Gunsmith flow. It described this as an interim workaround, not a permanent fix. PiunikaWeb also mentioned an in-match method suggested by a player, while cautioning that it was unofficial and not certain to work.
- Enter a match with the Pulemyot 762 in your loadout.
- Open the in-match loadout menu.
- Try equipping the underbarrel attachment there rather than through the normal pre-match Gunsmith selection.
These steps reflect advice published in November 2023. They are not a verified fix for current versions, and the reports do not establish that the workaround succeeded for every player.

Did a later update confirm the issue was fixed?
The official Season 2 notes from February 2024 list attachment and menu fixes, but do not explicitly identify the Pulemyot 762 match-rules-data error. Other menu fixes are not evidence that this particular problem was resolved. Call of Duty: Season 2 patch notes
The official Season 5 notes from July 2024 include Pulemyot 762 balance changes and say an incompatible Paracord Grip underbarrel was removed from the SP-R 208. Is the error still happening on the current build?
The reports and patch notes covered here establish the historical 2023 symptom and a suggested workaround, but not present-day reproducibility. They also do not establish whether the issue affects any particular current platform. If you encounter it now, check current official Call of Duty patch notes and support information for a platform- and build-specific update; do not assume that a general attachment or menu change addressed this exact error.
