n-gon is a free-to-play browser game that combines 2D platforming, shooting and physics-driven movement with rogue-lite progression and hundreds of power-ups. You can play it online with a keyboard and mouse; its code is open source.
What is n-gon?
n-gon is a single-player, physics-based 2D platformer shooter made by Ross Landgreen. Its official project description calls it a “2-d physics rogue-lite platformer shooter,” while the creator’s listing uses “Roguelite.” Both describe a game built around platforming and combat, with runs shaped by power-ups.
Landgreen says he wrote the game in JavaScript, CSS and HTML, using the Matter.js 2D physics library. Physics is part of the game’s identity, rather than just a technical detail: movement and encounters take place in a platforming environment governed by a 2D physics system.
How to play n-gon
The creator’s listing says you move with the keyboard and aim with the mouse. The official game page lists these default controls:

These are the page’s listed defaults, not fixed requirements: controls can be remapped in the game. A standard computer mouse is useful for aiming and mouse-button actions, but the available information does not establish that a gaming mouse is necessary or provides an advantage.
Gamepad support
The official game page has a “load gamepad support” option, labeled as community code that uses an external script. Treat it as optional community-provided support, not a guarantee that a particular controller is officially supported or compatible. Keyboard and mouse are the documented input method.

Is n-gon free, and can you download it?
The creator describes n-gon as free to play online, and the official repository links to the hosted game. The project is open source and lists a GPL-3.0 license. The available information supports playing it in a browser; it does not establish that a separate download is required. You do not need to buy a paid edition to access the online game.

The creator describes the game as having hundreds of power-ups and says new content is still being added. The game’s official page also links to historical versions. Because the live game can change, use a version-specific guide when an exact weapon, power-up or mechanic matters; instructions for an older build may not match the current hosted game.
An independently hosted, editable n-gon Wiki covers topics such as guns, fields, tech, maps, enemies and mods. It can help orient you, but it is a community reference rather than the official game page, so check important gameplay details against the version you are playing.
