When did Amazon Canada pre-orders open?
MobileSyrup reported on April 24, 2025, that “Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are now live at Amazon Canada.” Nintendo of Canada had announced six days earlier that retail pre-orders in Canada would begin April 24, following a delay. Can you order a Switch 2 from Amazon Canada now?
The old “pre-orders are live” headline describes the April 2025 launch window, not present availability. Amazon.ca’s indexed Nintendo Switch 2 System listing says “Available by invitation” and warns that demand is high, quantities are limited, and not all requests will be granted. That listing status is not proof that pre-orders are open, stock is available, or an invitation will lead to a purchase. Check the live page for current price, seller, stock, delivery estimate, and order terms before deciding.
Nintendo Support’s retailer directory includes Amazon Canada as a place to buy Nintendo products, but that does not confirm availability of this specific console: Nintendo’s retailer directory.

What were the Canadian launch prices?
Nintendo’s Canadian suggested retail prices below were announced on April 18, 2025. They are historical launch-era MSRPs, not verified current Amazon prices.

At those launch prices, the bundle cost $70 more than the standalone system and included the game’s download code. Whether that represents value for you depends on whether you want Mario Kart World; compare current live prices and bundle contents rather than assuming the 2025 MSRP still applies. Nintendo listed Mario Kart World separately at a Canadian MSRP of $109.99 at the time. Nintendo’s announcement lists the dated prices and bundle contents.
