Why do some familiar Switch 2 prices look different?
Nintendo of America listed the console at $449.99 and the console-plus-Mario Kart World bundle at $499.99 as U.S. suggested prices in April 2025. Those are historical launch figures: the console-only price was subsequently revised, and the cited current revision does not establish a new bundle price. Do not assume the old bundle price remains available or that a bundle will cost exactly $499.99 now. Nintendo of America’s launch hardware announcement describes the launch-era prices and bundle.
The launch bundle included a digital copy of Mario Kart World. Its original U.S. suggested price was $499.99, but Nintendo’s later announcement of the system price revision does not provide a current bundle price. Check the live listing and confirm the game is included before comparing a bundle with the console alone. Nintendo’s launch announcement lists the bundle contents.

How much are Switch 2 games?
There is no single current price that covers every Switch 2 game. Nintendo’s April 2025 U.S. launch pricing named Mario Kart World at $79.99 and Donkey Kong Bananza at $69.99 for both physical and digital versions. These are dated launch MSRPs, not a complete or universal current price list. A game’s price can depend on its publisher, physical or digital edition, region, and retailer. Nintendo’s launch pricing announcement gives those historical U.S. figures.
When physical and digital prices differ
Nintendo Support says that, beginning in May 2026 with preorders for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, new Nintendo-published digital titles exclusive to Switch 2 have an MSRP different from their physical versions. Nintendo attributes the difference to production and distribution costs and says it gives players more choice. This policy is limited to the specified category; it should not be assumed to apply to every Switch 2 game, publisher, title, or region. Check the current listing for the exact edition and market. Nintendo Support’s explanation of Switch 2 game pricing describes the policy.

What about Canada and other regions?
Nintendo of Canada announced launch-era prices of CAD $629.99 for the console and CAD $699.99 for the bundle in 2025. Those figures do not establish current Canadian prices in October 2026; verify the current listing in the region where you plan to buy. Nintendo of Canada’s launch announcement provides the dated figures.
For any market, compare the same product and edition: console alone versus bundle, physical versus digital game, and the same region and tax basis. The Europe price above is specifically a My Nintendo Store amount, while U.S. prices exclude tax, so the headline figures are not directly equivalent checkout totals.
