The Switch 2 Pro Controller adds a GameChat button, two assignable rear buttons, and a headset jack. Nintendo also describes changes to its sticks, grips, and rumble. The original Switch Pro Controller still works with Switch 2, so owners do not need to replace it just to keep playing.

Can you use the original Switch Pro Controller on Switch 2?
Yes. Nintendo says the original Pro Controller can pair wirelessly with Switch 2. It can also be charged through its dock via USB. Does the Switch 2 Pro Controller work with the original Switch?

Which controller should you choose?
- Keep the original if you already own it and simply need a controller for Switch 2. Nintendo confirms it remains compatible.
- Consider the Switch 2 model if you want its C Button for GameChat, assignable GL/GR buttons, or built-in headset jack.
- Choose based on the feel changes cautiously: Nintendo describes smoother, quieter sticks, redesigned grips, and improved-feeling HD Rumble 2, but the cited information is not independent comparative testing.
