Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is a digital, single-player interactive exhibit for Nintendo Switch 2. Rather than following a conventional story, it introduces the console through exhibit halls, hardware facts, quizzes, technology demonstrations, and mini-games.
How Welcome Tour teaches you about Switch 2
Nintendo describes Welcome Tour as an interactive exhibit offering an inside look at the features and technology behind the console. You roam themed exhibit halls, uncover facts, take quizzes, and try playful mini-games and demonstrations. The activities make the hardware the subject: this is an introduction to the system, not a story-led adventure. Nintendo’s product listing and its launch announcement describe those elements.

Release, format, and basic specifications
Nintendo lists the game for Nintendo Switch 2 as a digital edition, released June 5, 2025. Nintendo also said it was available through the Nintendo eShop from the console’s launch day. The product listing gives the following practical details:
- Play modes: TV, tabletop, and handheld.
- Players: One player on one system.
- Download size: 1.7 GB, according to Nintendo of America’s product listing.
- Languages: Japanese, British English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Dutch, Simplified Chinese, Latin American Spanish, Canadian French, Brazilian Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, and American English.
These are listing details, not a performance test. Nintendo’s cited product page does not establish a current US price, so check the live eShop listing for the price in your region.
#1 Best Overall
- Learn about basic features, like the magnetic connectors that keep the Joy-Con 2 controllers firmly attached, and about more advanced tech details that you might not otherwise notice.
- Uncover hidden facts, enjoy playful minigames and tech demos, and test your knowledge with quizzes as you explore the exhibit halls!
Do you need extra accessories?
Yes, for some in-game experiences: Nintendo’s store page says additional accessories are required for certain experiences and sold separately. However, the page does not say which accessory is needed for which activity, so that general warning is not enough to identify a specific purchase.
Nintendo separately describes a compatible USB-C camera, including the Nintendo Switch 2 camera, as an accessory that can connect to the console and is sold separately. Its launch announcement discusses camera use for GameChat; it does not establish that the camera is needed for any named Welcome Tour activity. Do not assume it unlocks a particular mini-game.
Rank #2
- Explore each stage and then find even more secrets by making your way through the stage backwards on the flip side
- Overcome varied enemies and obstacles, like Zombie Guys, Skelesaurus, Ukiki, and Monty Mole as you seek out hidden collectables; ESRB Content: Mild Cartoon Violence; Genre: Action, Platformer
- Pass a Joy Con controller to a friend for 2 player cooperative exploration
- Clad Yoshi in collectable, protective, handicraft costumes as he makes his way through each stage
Who is Welcome Tour for?
It is a natural fit if you own a Switch 2 and want an interactive way to explore what the system can do, especially if you enjoy short quizzes and demonstrations alongside hardware facts. It is less suited to someone looking for a conventional campaign or multiplayer game: Nintendo lists one player on one system, and frames the experience as an exhibit.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Because the game is listed only as a digital Nintendo Switch 2 title, you need that console to play it. If you are considering buying an accessory specifically for an activity, first confirm the activity’s requirement in the current Nintendo listing or eShop; the general accessory notice does not provide that mapping.
