Nintendo lists Amazon among retailers that carry its products. The two packages shoppers should compare are the standalone console and the Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle. Nintendo’s announced U.S. price increase took effect on September 1, 2026, raising the standalone system’s MSRP from $449.99 to $499.99 before tax. Amazon’s actual price, seller, stock, delivery date, and checkout total are dynamic, so verify them on the live listing before ordering.

The best Amazon listing depends on the package—not just the headline price
Nintendo’s retailer list confirms Amazon as a Nintendo retailer, but that does not mean every Amazon result is sold directly by Amazon or supplied by Nintendo. Results can include Amazon inventory, independent marketplace sellers, used and refurbished products, imported versions, games, cases, controllers, and other accessories.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
Amazon availability can also vary by ZIP code, delivery address, Prime eligibility, time of day, and inventory. A product page may remain searchable after immediate stock is gone, while “See buying options,” “Add to List,” backorder notices, or a future delivery date indicate something different from an in-stock purchase.
Nintendo’s official retailer information lists Amazon alongside retailers such as Best Buy, Costco, GameStop, Target, and Walmart.
Nintendo Switch 2 prices on Amazon
| Package | U.S. price reference | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Standalone Nintendo Switch 2 | $499.99 MSRP after September 1, 2026 | Console and standard hardware accessories; games purchased separately. |
| Choose Your Game Bundle | $499.99 MSRP | Console plus a download code for one eligible game. |
| Older Mario Kart World bundle | Varies | May be limited, discontinued, or marked up by marketplace sellers. |
These are U.S. prices before tax, not guaranteed Amazon checkout prices. Amazon may apply coupons, promotions, delivery charges, membership-related benefits, or marketplace markups. Always compare the final amount at checkout.
Before September 1, Nintendo’s standalone MSRP was $449.99. That earlier price was $50 below the revised MSRP, but Amazon inventory and retailer pricing could change before the deadline. A time-stamped August 2026 deal report observed the Choose Your Game Bundle at $499 on Amazon, but that was a market snapshot—not a permanent price or stock guarantee.
Nintendo lists Mario Kart World at a regular $79.99 price, although retailer pricing can differ. Nintendo says the Choose Your Game Bundle can provide savings of up to $29.99 compared with buying the system and selected game separately; the actual value depends on the game, promotion, and Amazon price.
Standalone console vs. Choose Your Game Bundle
| Package | Best for | Includes | Main drawback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standalone Nintendo Switch 2 | Shoppers who want maximum game choice | Console, Joy-Con 2 controllers, dock, AC adapter, USB-C cable, grip, straps, and HDMI cable | You must buy a game separately. |
| Choose Your Game Bundle | Shoppers who want an eligible launch-period title | Console and a download code for Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia | The game is digital, and the available choices may change. |
| Marketplace or import listing | Only informed buyers who accept additional risk | Varies by seller and region | Potential warranty, adapter, region, condition, and return complications. |
The bundle is not a physical-game package. Nintendo describes the included title as a download-code insert. Digital games are convenient, but a redeemed code generally cannot be resold or transferred like a physical cartridge and uses console storage. Check the intended Nintendo Account region and redemption terms.
Do not assume every Amazon listing titled “Switch 2 + Mario Kart World” is the current official Choose Your Game Bundle. Older Mario Kart World bundle inventory may be scarce or discontinued. An unusually high price may reflect third-party resale rather than a Nintendo price increase.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

How to buy Nintendo Switch 2 safely on Amazon
- Search precisely: Use “Nintendo Switch 2,” then filter or inspect results for a new console—not a game, case, screen protector, or controller.
- Confirm the product identity: Check the title, manufacturer, model information, storage and color details, package contents, and U.S. compatibility.
- Check the condition: Select New unless you knowingly accept used or refurbished hardware and its different warranty or return considerations.
- Inspect the seller box: Read both Sold by and Ships from. Review the seller’s recent feedback, history, return policy, and location.
- Verify the bundle: For the game bundle, confirm the included game, digital download-code wording, region, and whether the code is unused.
- Compare the price: Use Nintendo’s MSRP as a reference, not as proof that Amazon’s current total is fair.
- Check delivery: Enter your ZIP code or delivery address and confirm the estimated arrival date before adding the item to your cart.
- Review checkout: Confirm tax, shipping, coupons, promotions, and any membership-related requirements.
- Save the confirmation: Keep the order details and verify that the final seller, item, and delivery date match what you intended to buy.
A Prime badge does not by itself prove that Nintendo or Amazon sold the product. Prime generally concerns fulfillment or delivery eligibility; it does not remove marketplace, regional, or authenticity risks.
Amazon listing verification checklist
- Is the product new rather than used or refurbished?
- Is it sold by Amazon or an established retailer you recognize?
- Is it fulfilled by Amazon, and does the return policy meet your expectations?
- Does the seller have substantial recent feedback rather than only a small number of reviews?
- Is the price suspiciously below Nintendo’s MSRP or far above it?
- Does the listing ship from another country?
- Does it include a U.S. power adapter and appropriate warranty support?
- Are the manufacturer, model information, and UPC clear?
- Does the title clearly describe a console rather than an accessory bundle?
- For a game bundle, does it identify the digital code and eligible game choice?
Watch for these common Amazon search-result mistakes
Amazon may mix the following products into the same results:
Rank #2
- The next evolution of the Nintendo Switch system
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Supports up to 4K resolution** when using a compatible game and TV connected via the included Nintendo Switch 2 dock
- Nintendo Switch 2 plays compatible physical and digital Nintendo Switch games.***
- Nintendo Switch 2

- Original Nintendo Switch
- Switch 2 game software
- Carrying cases and screen protectors
- Joy-Con 2 controllers
- Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller
- Imported or regional systems
- Bundles containing only a game or accessory
Switch 2 hardware is not the original Switch. Nintendo describes the newer console as larger and says Joy-Con 2 controllers use magnetic attachment, unlike the original Switch controllers’ sliding rails. Check the packaging, product name, model details, and controller description before ordering.

What to do if the main Amazon listing is unavailable
- Open the listing’s Other sellers section and compare seller reputation, condition, fulfillment, delivery, and total cost.
- Search the exact official bundle name rather than relying only on broad keywords.
- Check whether the product is temporarily unavailable, backordered, or assigned a future release date.
- Use Nintendo’s official retailer list to compare authorized retailers, including Best Buy, Costco, GameStop, Target, and Walmart.
- Avoid large markups unless you knowingly accept marketplace risk and have checked the product’s region, condition, warranty, and return terms.
- Do not give Amazon credentials to third-party restock-alert or automated purchasing services.
Old screenshots and deal articles cannot prove current stock. Amazon sellers, delivery estimates, and prices can change repeatedly during the day.
Should you buy before or after September 1, 2026?
If you found a legitimate standalone listing at or near $449.99 before September 1, buying earlier could have saved $50 against Nintendo’s announced revised U.S. MSRP. As of September 4, 2026, that announced change should be treated as in effect, with the standalone MSRP at $499.99.
That does not mean every Amazon listing will immediately match Nintendo’s price. Retailers may discount, delay, or mark up inventory, and independent sellers may set their own prices. Compare the live checkout total and seller details rather than assuming the calendar date determines Amazon’s exact price.
What comes in the box?
The standard Switch 2 package includes the console, Joy-Con 2 controllers, dock, AC adapter, USB-C cable, Joy-Con 2 grip, controller straps, and HDMI cable. The standalone package does not automatically include a game.
You may separately consider a compatible case, screen protector, extra controller, camera, or microSD Express storage where required, but none should be treated as universally necessary. Confirm compatibility before buying third-party accessories.
Amazon searches for Switch 2 games, Switch 2 cases, and Switch 2 screen protectors can be useful add-on starting points, but verify the format and compatibility on each page.
Important compatibility and ownership costs
Nintendo says Switch games can generally be played on Switch 2, but some titles may be unsupported or not fully compatible. Do not assume universal backward compatibility. Depending on your use case, budget for compatible games, storage, protection, or an additional controller.
Nintendo Switch Online is relevant for online multiplayer and selected online features, but it is not mandatory for every offline game. Nintendo’s listed U.S. membership prices include $3.99 monthly, $7.99 for three months, $19.99 annually for an individual plan, $49.99 annually for Individual Expansion Pack, $34.99 annually for Family, and $79.99 annually for Family Expansion Pack. Subscription prices can change, so verify the current amount before purchasing. GameChat online features require internet access, a Nintendo Account, and Nintendo Switch Online; video features also require a compatible camera.
What to do if the shipment is wrong or questionable
Wrong region, adapter, or model
Photograph the box, labels, and packaging before opening if anything looks suspicious. Compare the adapter, model information, and included items with the Amazon description. Do not attempt unauthorized modification. Keep the packaging and accessories, then contact Amazon through the order page to request a return or replacement.

Do not assume every imported console is unusable in the United States. Compatibility, warranty, language, account, and power-adapter issues can vary by model and seller, so evaluate the specific product rather than making a blanket assumption.
Game code does not work
A failed code may be caused by prior redemption, a mismatched Nintendo Account region, an inactive code, a missing or damaged insert, or a listing that was not an official bundle. Contact Nintendo Support and Amazon order support. Neither service should be assumed to replace a code automatically.
Bottom line for Amazon shoppers
Buy the standalone Switch 2 when you want game flexibility or physical software. Buy the Choose Your Game Bundle when the price is near $499.99 and you genuinely want one of its eligible digital titles. In either case, inspect the condition, seller, fulfillment, region, delivery date, bundle contents, and final checkout total. Amazon is an official Nintendo-listed retailer, but the individual listing—not the Amazon search page or Prime badge—is what determines your purchase risk.

Is Nintendo Switch 2 sold directly by Amazon?
Nintendo lists Amazon as a retailer, but individual listings may be sold by Amazon.com, fulfilled by Amazon for a marketplace seller, or supplied and shipped by another seller. Check the live “Sold by” and “Ships from” fields.
How much does Nintendo Switch 2 cost in the U.S.?
Nintendo’s standalone MSRP was $449.99 before September 1, 2026, and Nintendo announced a revised $499.99 MSRP effective September 1. The Choose Your Game Bundle has a $499.99 MSRP. Amazon’s live price may differ.
Is the Choose Your Game Bundle physical or digital?
The included game is provided as a digital download code, not a physical cartridge. Confirm the game, region, and redemption terms before buying.
Can I still buy the Mario Kart World bundle?
Possibly, depending on remaining inventory, but older bundle stock may be limited or discontinued. Do not confuse an old Mario Kart World listing with Nintendo’s newer Choose Your Game Bundle.
Can I play original Nintendo Switch games on Switch 2?
Nintendo says Switch games can generally be played on Switch 2, but some titles may be unsupported or not fully compatible. Check the specific game rather than assuming universal compatibility.
What does Prime mean on a Switch 2 listing?
Prime may indicate delivery or fulfillment eligibility. It does not by itself prove that the item is sold by Nintendo or Amazon, or that the listing is the correct U.S. model.
Should I buy from an Amazon marketplace seller if Amazon is sold out?
Only after comparing the seller’s recent feedback, condition, region, fulfillment, return policy, delivery date, and total price. A large markup may not justify the added risk.
The Bottom Line
Best rule: use Amazon for convenience, but validate the exact listing. Choose the standalone console for flexibility; choose the $499.99 game bundle only when you want its digital title and the savings are real at checkout.
