How many players did the Nioh 3 demo get on Steam?
SteamDB records 39,227 concurrent players for the Nioh 3 Demo at its all-time Steam peak on January 29, 2026. The figure is a momentary high of people playing at the same time—not a count of downloads, unique players, sales, or everyone who played the demo across platforms. SteamDB’s Nioh 3 Demo charts identify the app and peak date.

SteamDB is a third-party tracker, not Valve or the game’s publisher. Its records provide a Steam concurrent-player measure; they do not show activity on PlayStation 5 or total audience across platforms.
How does that peak compare with full games?
On SteamDB’s all-time chart, the demo’s 39,227 concurrent-player peak is above the listed peaks for these three full games. The chart values below are SteamDB records accessed October 8, 2026; tracker figures may be revised.
#1 Best Overall
| Steam app | All-time concurrent-player peak listed by SteamDB |
|---|---|
| Nioh 3 Demo | 39,227 |
| Against the Storm | 12,832 |
| People Playground | 17,015 |
| OCTOPATH TRAVELER II | 17,008 |
These examples support a narrow comparison: the demo’s recorded Steam peak exceeded the peaks SteamDB lists for some full-game apps. They do not establish that it outperformed most or all full games. A demo’s concurrent peak also cannot be used to compare sales, total reach, long-term engagement, or audiences on other platforms. SteamDB’s all-time Steam chart is the source for the comparison.
What was in the Nioh 3 demo?
KOEI TECMO America announced the demo for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC via Steam. The publisher described it as covering early stages of the dark samurai action RPG, with custom character creation, solo play or online multiplayer for up to three players, and a boss encounter against Jakotsu-baba. The publisher also said demo save data could carry over to the full game. KOEI TECMO America’s January 29, 2026 launch announcement gives those details.

Was there a demo completion bonus?
Yes, but its deadline has passed. KOEI TECMO America said players who completed the demo by February 15, 2026, would receive the Twin-Snake Helmet for use in the full game. The publisher’s announcement makes this a time-limited historical offer, not a currently available demo reward. Read the publisher’s launch announcement.
