FORSAKEN is not currently an announced expedition. Hello Games released it as No Man’s Sky update 7.10 on October 28, 2026, and the official material reviewed by October 30 does not describe a FORSAKEN-named expedition or a separate event sign-up. To start an expedition that is available, use the Expedition Terminus aboard the Space Anomaly on an existing save, or choose the fresh expedition-save option when you begin a new game. To play FORSAKEN, update the supported game and pursue its scavenging activities—mementos, hostile boundary horrors, forsaken traders and biomechanical corvette parts—rather than looking for an expedition registration screen.
Is FORSAKEN an expedition in No Man’s Sky?
No. In the official announcement and update notes available on October 30, 2026, FORSAKEN is identified as update 7.10, not as a numbered expedition. Those sources do not announce a FORSAKEN expedition, a FORSAKEN milestone track or a special event-join flow.

That distinction matters because an expedition is a separate, milestone-based ruleset with phases and time-limited availability, while FORSAKEN is a game update whose content is available through normal play on supported platforms. A future expedition could still be announced, but current official information does not establish one.
The most recently announced numbered expedition in the reviewed announcements is Expedition Twenty-Three: Our Journey Continues. Hello Games described its original run as approximately six weeks, not as a fixed closing date. Its current availability must therefore be checked in the in-game expedition selector rather than assumed from the announcement date.

How do I start an expedition on my main save?
Use the Space Anomaly’s Expedition Terminus. This preserves your primary save and lets the expedition system stage selected supplies and packaged equipment for the expedition.
- Load the save you want to keep as your primary save. You do not need to abandon it or create a replacement character.
- Enter the Space Anomaly. The Expedition Terminus is an interactive station aboard the Anomaly.
- Open the Terminus and review the expeditions listed as available. If no expedition is listed, there is no currently selectable expedition on that installation or account at that moment; do not treat the FORSAKEN update itself as a missing expedition entry.
- Choose the available expedition and configure staged items. Hello Games’ expedition system allows selected items and packaged equipment to be placed at the Terminus before departure. These provisions are separate from ordinary inventory until the expedition lets you retrieve them.
- Confirm departure. The game creates or enters the expedition state while retaining the primary save.
- Return to the Terminus or use the main-menu expedition controls when you need to switch saves. Hello Games says the expedition and primary save can be switched through the terminal or the main menu.
When the expedition brings you back to the Anomaly, the Terminus is also where staged provisions can be retrieved. The exact inventory you can place, retrieve or transfer depends on the expedition system’s current rules and the items you select before leaving, so read the station’s confirmation screen instead of assuming every item is transferable.
Where is the Expedition Terminus?
It is aboard the Space Anomaly, not at a planetary outpost or a FORSAKEN trader. Enter the Anomaly and interact with the station labeled Expedition Terminus; it is the expedition-system terminal used to launch, stage equipment and switch between the expedition and your primary save.
If you are looking for the terminal while playing ordinary missions, remember that the expedition selector is an Anomaly service. A trader, derelict freighter, infested outpost or digsite can contain FORSAKEN-related activity, but none of those locations replaces the Terminus for expedition enrollment.
How do I begin an expedition from a fresh save?
Select the fresh expedition-save route when an expedition is offered at the start of a new game. This is the alternative Hello Games described for Our Journey Continues, and it does not require you to alter an existing Normal Mode save.
- Start a new game and choose the expedition option shown by the current version. The option appears only when an expedition is available to start.
- Accept the expedition save. The new save begins with that expedition’s rules, milestones and starting conditions instead of your established character’s inventory.
- Open the Expedition Page after you gain control. It lists the phases and milestones that define what to do next.
- Keep the save separate while the expedition is active. Your existing primary save remains available from the normal save-selection flow.
- After the expedition’s conversion or completion rules apply, check the save-selection screen. Hello Games says an expedition save such as Our Journey Continues may later become a Normal Mode save. The exact conversion timing and behavior can depend on the expedition and the game version.
The fresh route is useful when you want the expedition’s intended opening conditions and do not need supplies from a developed character. The Anomaly route is better when you want staged equipment and a direct connection to an established save.

What is the difference between starting on an existing save and starting fresh?
Both routes enter the same expedition framework, but they serve different preparation needs.

Neither route turns FORSAKEN into an expedition. The choice only determines how you enter an expedition that the game currently lists as available.
How do I progress once an expedition starts?
Use the Expedition Page as your checklist. Complete milestones, then finish the phases those milestones form, and claim every reward the page makes available.
- Open the Expedition Page. Review the current phase, its milestones and the rewards attached to each objective.
- Pin a milestone for guidance. Pinning puts the relevant objective and guidance into the normal mission-tracking interface so you can follow it while exploring.
- Complete milestones in an efficient order. Several milestones may be achievable during the same trip, but the page is the authority for the requirement and its completion state.
- Claim completed milestone rewards. Do not assume that completing an objective automatically equips or transfers its reward.
- Finish the phase and claim its phase reward. A phase is a group of milestones; completing individual tasks is not the same as claiming the phase reward.
- Complete the final phase and claim the expedition’s final rewards. The reward screen determines what is granted and when it becomes redeemable.
For Our Journey Continues, Hello Games says exclusive phase rewards can be redeemed across saves at the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion aboard the Space Anomaly. That cross-save redemption rule belongs to the expedition reward system; it is not evidence that FORSAKEN trader items are expedition phase rewards.
How do I play the FORSAKEN update instead?
Update the game to the FORSAKEN release and follow its normal-world activities. There is no separate FORSAKEN enrollment screen in the official material reviewed for this article.
Search the places that contain mementos
Explore infested outposts, deep-space hulks, derelict freighters and planetary digsites. These locations are the update’s scavenging targets for haunting mementos. Treat the search as ordinary gameplay: travel to the location, investigate its available points of interest and collect the mementos the activity presents.

Watch for boundary horrors
Hostile boundary horrors can appear during FORSAKEN-related exploration. Prepare for combat before investigating dangerous sites, and keep an escape or recovery plan if your inventory and health are already strained.
Find forsaken traders at space outposts
Forsaken traders can be summoned at space outposts. Trade the haunting mementos you collect for biomechanical corvette parts. These exchanges are update activities, not expedition milestones, so their availability and rewards should not be confused with a limited-time expedition reward track.

A preserved-grub offering can be used to acquire the Larva Cannon Multi-Tool. The Larva Tank helmet and Mind Harvester title are also associated with this scavenging activity. They are in-game rewards and unlocks, not physical products or proof of an expedition.
Use the other 7.10 features
FORSAKEN also adds biomechanical corvette modules, new cockpit and interior choices, space-courier missions, a minimal HUD option, radial Multi-Tool weapon selection and direct warping to nearby stars. Courier contracts require a corvette and a Gravitino Coil according to the update notes.
Hello Games describes the nearby-star warp as follows: “Stars from nearby star systems can now be directly targeted and warped to from space, without opening the Galaxy Map.” That is a navigation feature in the update, not an expedition-launch command.
Expedition milestones or FORSAKEN gameplay: which one am I looking at?
The quickest way to identify the activity is to check where the objective appears and what kind of reward it offers.

Which platforms support FORSAKEN?
Hello Games’ release log names PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass and iOS for the FORSAKEN release. Platform availability can change as updates roll out, so use the game’s own update prompt and the current official release information for your device.
The October 28 announcement says eligible users with an iPhone 11 or newer, and users with a third-generation iPad Air or newer, can try the beginning of the iOS game for free. That limited beginning-of-game trial is not a free FORSAKEN expedition and does not guarantee access to every game feature.
What does patch 7.11 change?
On October 29, Hello Games reported patch 7.11 live on Steam and said other platforms would follow. The hotfix addresses crashes involving the Space Anomaly teleporter and warping. Do not assume that 7.11 had reached every platform at the October 30 check.
If the Terminus or Anomaly travel is crashing, first confirm that your platform has received the update, install the available patch and restart the game. If your platform has not received 7.11 yet, the correct remedy is to wait for its rollout rather than repeatedly attempting a feature that the installed build may not contain.

- The expedition has ended or is not active. The announcement’s “approximately six weeks” estimate for Our Journey Continues is not an exact closing timestamp. Check the in-game selector.
- You are looking for FORSAKEN by name. The official sources reviewed do not list a FORSAKEN expedition. Open the update’s normal activities instead.
- Your game is not fully updated. Install the current platform build and restart before checking the Anomaly or new-game menus.
- Your platform is waiting for a rollout. Hello Games specifically described 7.11 as live on Steam first, with other platforms to follow.
- You are using the wrong starting route. An existing save uses the Anomaly Terminus; a new character uses the fresh expedition-save option. Neither route can launch an expedition that is no longer listed as available.
Do I need to buy a separate FORSAKEN event or item?
No separate event purchase is identified in the official material. FORSAKEN is a game update, and its mementos, trader exchanges, Larva Cannon and cosmetic rewards are earned in game.
If you do not own the base game, Hello Games’ buying information includes PS5 and physical-edition selections, while the release log lists PS5 support for FORSAKEN. Stock, retailer listings, SKUs and prices were not verified here, so confirm those details with the current seller before buying. A physical edition gives access to the game platform version; it does not guarantee that a time-limited expedition will still be open.

- Confirm whether the expedition selector actually lists an active expedition.
- Use the Anomaly Terminus if you want to preserve a developed save and stage supplies.
- Use the fresh-save route if you want the expedition’s intended starting conditions.
- Read the Expedition Page, pin milestones and claim phase rewards instead of treating update activities as expedition objectives.
- For FORSAKEN gameplay, search the named infested, derelict and digsite locations and visit space outposts for forsaken traders.
- Check your platform’s update status, especially if you are waiting for patch 7.11 fixes.

No. Hello Games lists nine framed artworks among the rewards for Expedition Twenty-Three: Our Journey Continues. They are not identified as rewards from the FORSAKEN update’s memento-trading activities.
Can I move a Larva Cannon from a FORSAKEN activity into an expedition?
The official material does not establish a cross-system transfer rule for that item. Treat the Larva Cannon as a FORSAKEN gameplay reward and follow the inventory and expedition-transfer prompts shown by your current build.
Will buying the PS5 physical edition guarantee access to a live expedition?
