Camp Blood (version 1.2) is No More Room in Hell 2’s first major post-launch expansion. Released on October 22, 2026, it adds Ruby Lake, a new Survival map styled after 1980s campsite slashers, and introduces Responder Retirement with a 20-level Distinguished Service progression track. The update also delivers experimental subtitles, independent controller deadzone settings, map-specific communication ranges, a redesigned Power Plant finale, balance changes, and a broad set of technical fixes. It is a larger change than a simple map drop because it expands both the moment-to-moment map roster and the long-term endgame loop.
What is included in the Camp Blood update?
The official notes are dated October 20, 2026, and the update launched October 22. Torn Banner Studios describes Camp Blood as the first new map since version 1.0 and says its post-launch plan is to add maps and gameplay systems regularly.

What is the Ruby Lake map like?
Ruby Lake is a Survival map on the outskirts of Warren County, New Jersey. The Civil Recovery Corps helps the National Guard extract civilians while drawing zombies toward abandoned camp facilities as a diversion.

The setting deliberately evokes 1980s campsite slasher films. The preview identifies troop cabins, a ranger station and a camp pavilion as key locations, giving the map a different visual and tactical identity from the existing industrial, urban and military environments.
Communication is deliberately tighter on Ruby Lake: players can communicate over 45 meters, compared with 60 meters on Bunker, Lewiston, Flooded and Lighthouse and 90 meters on Power Plant and Pottsville. The shorter range makes proximity, regrouping and clear callouts more important during an extraction.

How does Responder Retirement work?
Responder Retirement is permanent for the individual character. A Responder must reach level 100 before retirement; once retired, that character can no longer be played, and its roster slot becomes available for another Responder.

- Level a Responder to level 100.
- Retire the character through the progression system.
- Receive Distinguished Service progress based on that Responder’s accomplishments and skills.
- Use the resulting account-wide progression to improve later Responders and unlock rewards.
Each retirement increases the starting level of future Responders by one, up to a maximum starting level of 30. That bonus does not make a new character instantly equivalent to a level-100 veteran, but it reduces the early grind after a high-level loss or deliberate prestige decision.
What does Distinguished Service unlock?
Distinguished Service is a separate reward track fed by the accomplishments and skills of retired Responders. Camp Blood launches with 20 levels. An additional loadout slot is one of the first major rewards; the track also includes cosmetics, perks and passive items, with further gameplay features planned for later updates.
Because retirement consumes the character permanently, the system is a trade-off rather than a free respec. Players gain faster starts and account rewards by giving up a fully developed Responder, so retiring immediately at level 100 is not automatically optimal if a particular character’s build is still valuable to a squad.
What accessibility and controller options were added?
Camp Blood adds experimental subtitles for Civil Recovery Corps dialogue. Every objective receives a subtitle that communicates its core goal, while the preview warns that variations in spoken lines are not yet represented completely. Text size and opacity can be adjusted to improve readability.

This lets a player compensate for drift on one stick without adding the same deadzone to the other, although the best value depends on the controller and should be checked in a quiet menu before a run.

How have existing maps and finales changed?
Power Plant finale
The Power Plant ending now combines exterior repairs with headquarters repairs. A run requires two randomly selected exterior objectives, one randomly selected parts group, a codebook search and extraction. Zombie-spawner spacing and the map’s thematic zombie types were also adjusted. The developer team said the changes should produce “a much more satisfying conclusion to Power Plant runs.”
Hospital
Hospital’s barricade-plank spawn rate was reduced by 30 percent, changing how reliably teams can fortify and sustain defensive positions.
Raven Rock
Raven Rock now contains critical supplies and has adjusted pressure around train extraction, giving teams different priorities when deciding whether to search for resources or move directly toward departure.
Communication ranges
The update standardizes proximity communication by map density:
| Range | Maps |
|---|---|
| 90 m | Power Plant, Pottsville |
| 60 m | Bunker, Lewiston, Flooded, Lighthouse |
| 45 m | Ruby Lake, NOTLD, Broadway, Hospital |
Which bugs and online problems does Camp Blood fix?
The patch addresses crashes, server performance, matchmaking, audio, animation, environmental issues, respawn behavior, inventory duplication and user-interface problems. It also restores the in-game report button and improves controller navigation.
Party reliability is a separate work in progress. The preview says the team is migrating squads to a new system to address party problems, but it does not provide a release window. That migration should not be treated as a feature already shipped in Camp Blood.

Where can you play No More Room in Hell 2?

Launch promotions were listed as 25% off on Steam and Epic through the end of October 2026, 20% off on PlayStation through November 4, and 20% off on Xbox through November 5. These are time-limited offers and may have changed; check the relevant storefront before buying.
Why is Camp Blood a bigger deal than a normal map update?
Earlier content additions can provide a new scenario without changing how an account develops. Camp Blood does both jobs: Ruby Lake expands the Survival rotation, while Retirement and Distinguished Service create a repeatable reason to continue leveling Responders after reaching the normal ceiling. Subtitles and controller tuning improve access, and the map-specific communication and finale changes alter how established maps are played.
The result is a post-launch update aimed at three different needs at once: players who want a fresh setting, veterans looking for a long-term progression target, and squads waiting for stability and usability improvements. Planned future Distinguished Service features and the squad-system migration indicate that Camp Blood is also the foundation for a continuing update program rather than a self-contained event.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Ruby Lake a real campground in New Jersey?
Ruby Lake is presented as a fictional Survival location on the outskirts of Warren County, New Jersey. Its cabins, ranger station and pavilion are designed to evoke 1980s campsite-slasher settings rather than document a specific real-world park.
