There is no evidence-backed universal best weapon in No Rest for the Wicked. In the September 8, 2026 editorial review of Early Access — Together Hotfix 9, the Lacquered Bow is the clearest high-investment ranged recommendation, but it is conditional on gear and affected by range falloff and quiver trade-offs. Other weapons discussed below are candidates, not confirmed tier placements.
Current weapon tier list
This is a dated editorial assessment, not an official ranking from Moon Studios. The available reviews do not establish comparative performance statistics such as DPS, win rate, or popularity, so a precise universal S-to-F list would claim more than the evidence supports.

| Weapon | Assessment | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Lacquered Bow | Conditional A tier; strongest supported high-investment ranged candidate | Depends on gear. Patch 1 range falloff matters at distance, and quiver choices involve trade-offs. [September 8 tier review; playstyle guide] |
| Fetid Club | Unassessed tier; stagger candidate | Its stagger potential is noted, but slower wind-up and interruption risk need broader encounter testing. The current cited record says it requires 19 Faith and scales with Faith. [tier review; playstyle guide] |
| Balak Talon | Unassessed tier; conditional mobile ranged candidate | Listed as a Dexterity/Faith weapon, but the available review says evidence is insufficient for a fixed tier. [tier review] |
| Royal Hewn Axe | Reassess after balance changes | The playstyle guide reports a Patch 1 buff; that change alone does not establish that the weapon is best. [playstyle guide] |
| Huro’s Great Axe | Reassess after balance changes | The playstyle guide reports a Patch 1 nerf; that change alone does not establish that the weapon is obsolete. [playstyle guide] |
What makes the Lacquered Bow a conditional pick?
The Lacquered Bow is the strongest specific recommendation in the reviewed evidence for a high-investment ranged setup, not a plug-and-play winner for every character. Its performance depends on having suitable gear, and the guide flags both the bow’s range falloff at distance and quiver trade-offs. Together Update made bows main-hand weapons, added quivers, and introduced the Lacquered Bow’s Hunter’s Mark identity; Together Patch 1 added range falloff and projectile gravity and changed bow runes and run attacks. Those changes make older assumptions less reliable, but do not by themselves prove a tier placement. [tier review; playstyle guide]
How to choose a weapon for your build
Compare weapons in the build and encounters you actually play. A useful comparison goes beyond base damage: No Rest for the Wicked weapons have distinct movesets and can be tailored with runes and upgrades, as described in the April 18, 2024 Take-Two/Private Division announcement.

- Requirements and scaling: Check that your attributes meet the weapon’s requirements and support its scaling. The Fetid Club’s cited current record is 19 Faith and Faith scaling, not Strength.
- Attack chain and recovery: Try the full sequence, including its wind-up and recovery, rather than judging a single hit. Long or interruptible attacks can be risky when an enemy can punish them.
- Range and safety: Consider whether the weapon lets you attack from a useful distance and reposition safely. For bows, account for range falloff and projectile gravity.
- Stamina or other resource demand: Check whether you can sustain the attacks and still defend or evade when needed.
- Stagger and poise pressure: These can matter more than raw damage against some enemies; the Fetid Club is discussed as a stagger candidate, but its tier remains unassessed.
- Runes, gear, and ease of use: Include rune interactions, gear dependence, and whether the moveset is practical for you. A familiar weapon that fits your build and encounter can outperform a conditional recommendation when you lack its required gear or resources.
Do not infer a weapon’s overall standing from base damage or a patch note saying it was buffed or nerfed. A balance change is a reason to reassess in play, not proof of a new ranking.
Why weapon rankings disagree
One fan wiki places Wind of Death, Fetid Club, and Falling Sky in S tier. The newer evidence-limited review does not assign those weapons a tier, and the wiki’s Strength label for Fetid Club conflicts with the newer guide’s 19 Faith requirement and Faith-scaling record. Treat those rankings as competing editorial judgments, not a consensus or developer endorsement. [tier review; playstyle guide; fan tier list]

Version and release context
The independent tier and playstyle reviews identify Early Access — Together Hotfix 9 as their version basis and are dated September 8, 2026. Moon Studios’ official news page says the 1.0 release moved from October 2026 to March 2027. Rankings may need another look after balance changes and the 1.0 class and progression update. The studio’s September 18, 2026 announcement previews 24 classes, 280+ traits, six trait slots, and six factions; those announced systems do not establish weapon-tier outcomes. [Moon Studios news]
