NVIDIA Verified Priority Access (VPA) is legitimate, and it may be the best route to an RTX 5090, RTX 5080, or RTX 5070 Founders Edition at its announced MSRP. But enrollment is not a reservation: NVIDIA says there may be more applicants than available cards, and selection does not guarantee that inventory will still be available when you check out.
That makes VPA especially useful for buyers who specifically want a Founders Edition and can tolerate an uncertain wait. If you simply need any RTX 50-series card now, an in-stock partner model may be the better choice.

What NVIDIA Verified Priority Access actually is
VPA is a controlled invitation system for selected, verified users. Eligible applicants can register through NVIDIA and, if selected, receive an opportunity to buy a limited allocation of certain GeForce RTX 50-series Founders Edition cards directly from NVIDIA.

VPA is not:
- A guaranteed reservation.
- A normal public queue with a visible position.
- A promise that every applicant will receive an invitation.
- Access to every RTX 50-series GPU.
- Protection against a card selling out after selection.
- A discount program—the appeal is access to the announced price, not a price below MSRP.
“Verified” describes the account and purchasing process; it does not mean that selection is guaranteed. NVIDIA has not published reliable public odds, queue positions, batch sizes, or a selection timetable.
NVIDIA’s announcement explicitly warns that demand may exceed supply.
Which RTX 50 cards are covered?
VPA has been associated with these Founders Edition models:

Do not assume that VPA covers the RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5060, or RTX 5050. NVIDIA’s launch material identified Founders Edition availability for the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070, while the wider RTX 50-series lineup also includes partner-only or partner-focused models.

A Founders Edition is NVIDIA’s own reference-designed card. Partner, or AIB, cards come from companies such as ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY, and Zotac. They are normally sold through retailers and system builders and are not automatically part of VPA.
Where is VPA available?
The RTX 50-series program was initially reported for U.S. users and was later expanded to France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. NVIDIA also promoted event-based VPA purchasing opportunities at PAX East 2026 and QuakeCon 2026.
Those categories should not be confused:
- Online enrollment: region and account rules depend on the live NVIDIA form.
- Event access: limited by the event’s location, attendance, schedule, inventory, and purchase rules.
As of August 18, 2026, NVIDIA’s European VPA page remains publicly indexed, but its visible information does not establish that enrollment or every product is currently available in every listed country. Check the live form before relying on it.

The reported original U.S. RTX 50-series rollout was limited to NVIDIA Accounts created on or before January 30, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time. That is launch-era U.S. eligibility context, not a rule that should automatically be applied to every later regional or event version.

Current eligibility may depend on:
- An NVIDIA Account.
- A supported country and shipping address.
- Account, identity, payment, or purchase verification.
- The products displayed by the live enrollment form.
Account age is not publicly documented as a selection-priority system. Owning an NVIDIA GPU, having used GeForce Experience or the NVIDIA App, or repeatedly submitting forms should not be treated as a guaranteed requirement or odds booster unless NVIDIA’s current terms say otherwise.
How to enroll
- Sign in to the NVIDIA Account you intend to use for the purchase.
- Open the official VPA enrollment page for your region.
- Review the currently listed products and eligibility requirements.
- Select the available card or cards you want.
- Submit the enrollment request and retain confirmation details.
- Monitor the account’s email, including spam, promotions, and junk folders.
Use NVIDIA’s official domain rather than a link supplied by a social-media seller. The live form may change its controls, product list, or regional requirements.
What happens if you are selected?
The expected process is:
- NVIDIA sends an invitation email to the selected account.
- The message provides a unique purchase link or instructions.
- You complete checkout before the deadline stated in that invitation.
- NVIDIA checks payment, billing, shipping, account, or identity details if required.
- The order proceeds only while the relevant inventory remains available.
Do not assume there is a universal 24-hour purchase window or a universal quantity limit. Those details have appeared in third-party descriptions, but the current invitation and terms should be used for the RTX 50-series offer.
If the link expires, checkout fails, or inventory disappears, an invitation may not produce a successful purchase. Contact NVIDIA through its official support route, but do not pay a third party to “restore” access or sell you a replacement invitation.

What “at MSRP” means
NVIDIA announced these U.S. starting prices for the relevant Founders Edition cards: $1,999 for the RTX 5090, $999 for the RTX 5080, and $549 for the RTX 5070. Regional pricing, taxes, shipping, and later NVIDIA price changes can produce a different final total.
MSRP does not mean the card is inexpensive, that tax or shipping is waived, or that a partner card will cost the same. It also does not guarantee that the price will still be available when you reach checkout.
The value of VPA can be substantial when retail premiums are extreme. For example, Tom’s Hardware reported RTX 5090 prices above $4,000 in coverage of QuakeCon 2026. That illustrates why an MSRP opportunity can matter, but it is not a universal price for every retailer in August 2026.

Founders Edition cards offer NVIDIA’s reference design and can be the clearest route to launch pricing. Partner cards may offer larger coolers, lower noise, different power delivery, alternate BIOS features, more size choices, or a more convenient retailer warranty and return process.

Should you wait for VPA?
- Enroll and wait if: you specifically want an RTX 5090, 5080, or 5070 Founders Edition, live in a supported region, value MSRP more than immediate ownership, and can accept that no invitation may arrive.
- Shop in parallel if: you want an RTX 50-series GPU soon, would accept an AIB card, or find a legitimate model priced close enough to the Founders Edition MSRP.
- Buy a partner card now if: you need the GPU immediately or have firm requirements for cooler performance, acoustics, dimensions, connector placement, or warranty service.
- Wait without buying if: you already have a capable GPU, current premiums are unreasonable, or your workload does not require RTX 50-series performance.
For an urgent purchase, start with NVIDIA’s official RTX 50-series buy page and its partner links. Also consider a lower-tier RTX 50-series card, a discounted RTX 40-series model, or a complete desktop or laptop if the total system price is competitive.
Check compatibility before accepting any card
An invitation is not a reason to skip normal build checks. Confirm:
- GPU length, height, and thickness.
- Clearance with front radiators, fans, drive cages, and side panels installed.
- Power-supply wattage and required power connectors.
- Safe cable-bend clearance around the GPU power connector.
- Whether your CPU and monitor make sense for the card’s intended resolution and refresh rate.
- Whether the card suits 4K gaming, high-refresh 1440p, content creation, or local AI workloads.
- The seller’s return policy and warranty process.
NVIDIA’s launch material described the RTX 5090 Founders Edition as a two-slot, 304 mm design, but verify the current product page and exact regional model before finalizing a build.

How to avoid VPA scams
- Begin at an NVIDIA.com page or the official NVIDIA Marketplace.
- Never pay someone for “priority access,” an invitation code, or guaranteed placement.
- Do not buy NVIDIA Accounts from brokers.
- Never enter account credentials into a third-party enrollment form.
- Inspect links in emails before signing in; they should lead to NVIDIA’s official domains.
- Treat claims of guaranteed selection or guaranteed stock as unsupported and potentially fraudulent.
Verdict
VPA is worth entering because it is a legitimate, potentially MSRP-priced path to scarce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Founders Edition cards. Its catch is fundamental: enrollment gives you a chance, not a reservation. Register through NVIDIA if an FE card is your priority, but keep checking reputable retailers and buy a suitable partner card if your needs are immediate.
