Answers for October 24, 2024
Here is the complete answer key for puzzle #501. The four words in each row form one group.
| Color | Category | Words |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | LINEUP | BILL, PROGRAM, SCHEDULE, SLATE |
| Green | NYT OFFERINGS | AUDIO, COOKING, GAMES, NEWS |
| Blue | THINGS MADE BY FOLDING PAPER | AIRPLANE, CRANE, FAN, FORTUNE TELLER |
| Purple | FRENCH WORDS | ADIEU, BELLE, PAIN, TEMPS |
Why the paper-folding group fits
AIRPLANE, CRANE, FAN, and FORTUNE TELLER are all forms that can be made by folding paper. If you have origami paper, you can try making the shapes after solving; the puzzle’s category refers to the folded forms, not to a particular paper or folding method.

How Connections works
In Connections, players sort sixteen words into four groups of four based on a shared theme. Each group has a color: yellow is the easiest and purple the trickiest, according to the NYT Help Center. The daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone, so the puzzle available under a given date may depend on local time.

The NYT Help Center says the Connections archive goes back to June 12, 2023. Archive access is available to All Access and Games subscribers, and playing archive puzzles affects statistics but not streaks. The Help Center also lists the Games app and NYT Games website among the ways to play. Subscription eligibility and platform details can change, so check the official help page for current terms.
