Spoilers: the complete groups and their tiles are below. The group names and tile spellings are transcribed from puzzle guides; the fourth group has a source discrepancy.
- Move at breakneck speed: BARREL, BOLT, HURTLE, TEAR.
- Organ meats: GIZZARD, HEART, TONGUE, TRIPE.
- Woodworking joint terms: DADO, DOVETAIL, MITRE, MORTISE.

A transcription discrepancy in the final group
Parade’s guide prints the last group’s tiles as CAPTAIN and PESO, while TechRadar’s transcription gives CAPITAN and PASO. The latter spellings complete the reported “EL ____” category, so they are used in the answer list above; the disagreement is not resolved by an official puzzle record in the sources cited here. How the game and archive work
NYT describes Connections as having exactly one solution, with word choices that can fit multiple categories to make the puzzle tricky. It says editors curate words and categories using the Oxford Dictionary. NYT’s Help Center says the daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone and is free to play on listed platforms including the Games app, NYTimes.com, and the News app.
As of October 8, 2026, NYT’s Help Center says the archive reaches back to June 12, 2023, and archive access is available to All Access and Games subscribers. Playing an archived puzzle does not affect a streak, and a completed archived puzzle cannot be replayed. Access terms and platform details can change.
