Clue words for in-game hints
TechRadar lists these words as ways to unlock in-game hints:
- HEIR
- BEAR
- BUNCH
- ROUND
- CREAM
- TIGER
The Economic Times guide reports that finding three words of at least four letters triggers an in-game hint. The official NYT rules page was not available to confirm that rule.

- A curved, flat piece of wood that spins back to the thrower points to BOOMERANG.
- A gunshot that skips off a surface when misfired points to RICOCHET.
These clues were published by Hindustan Times.
Spangram hints
TechRadar reports that the 12-letter spangram touches the top edge at column 3 and the left edge at row 6. Hindustan Times says it begins with “NI” and describes it as vertical; that orientation does not match TechRadar’s reported edge contacts. Without the board, the two descriptions cannot be reconciled, so neither establishes the letter path.
