What is the latest Oblivion Remastered Switch 2 patch?
Bethesda’s official Switch 2 record currently lists two patches. Patch 1.0 is the launch-day update from August 11, 2026. Patch 1.1, dated September 17, 2026, is the newest Switch 2 patch listed on Bethesda’s product and update pages. No newer Switch 2 patch number is published in the current official listing.

Patch 1.1: September 17, 2026
Patch 1.1 expands the crash, gameplay and visual fixes introduced at launch. Its documented crash fixes cover enchanting, opening the player map, the third-person camera, loading into the Cheydinhal Fighters Guild, fast travel after Castle Bravil, and waiting while bound effects are active. Bethesda also lists additional gameplay and visual corrections, although the page does not present a separate performance mode or a new graphics preset.

The launch patch addressed crashes connected with quests, fast travel, loading saves, overwriting saves, and moving between locations in Tamriel and Oblivion. Two specifically described save and progression issues were also corrected:

If you are troubleshooting a save or crash, install Patch 1.1 before trying older workarounds. It contains the launch fixes as well as the later corrections.
What Switch 2 features does the patch support?
Bethesda’s Patch 1.0 FAQ describes the Switch 2 presentation and control features. The listed targets are fixed output modes rather than selectable quality profiles.

These are the capabilities Bethesda documents for the Switch 2 version; they should not be interpreted as a promise of an unlocked frame rate or a user-selectable 60 FPS mode.
Can you use Switch saves on Switch 2?
Nintendo lists Oblivion Remastered as supporting Save Data Cloud. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for that service. Nintendo’s compatibility guidance says saves for compatible software can be backed up and downloaded between Switch 2 and Switch when both consoles use the same Nintendo Account.

What happens to Switch 2-only content on Switch?
A save that includes Switch 2-exclusive features or content can still be used on a Switch under Nintendo’s guidance, but those Switch 2 enhancements are not available while the save is being used on Switch. The underlying progress is therefore portable in the supported cloud workflow, while hardware-specific features remain unavailable on the older console.
No reviewed official statement confirms direct save migration with the Xbox, PlayStation or PC editions. Do not assume that a Bethesda account, platform account or USB transfer will move progress between those versions.
Back up a save to the cloud
- From the HOME Menu, highlight The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
- Press the + or − button to open Software Options.
- Select Save Data Cloud.
- Choose the user profile that owns the save.
- Select Back Up Save Data.
The console must be online, and the user needs an active Nintendo Switch Online membership for the cloud service.

Download a cloud save
- Open the game’s Software Options from HOME with the + or − button.
- Choose Save Data Cloud and select the correct user.
- Select Download Save Data.
- Compare the timestamps before confirming the replacement.
Nintendo warns that downloading can overwrite newer local data. If you played recently on the destination console, check which copy is newest before accepting the download; the cloud operation is not a merge of two timelines.

Can you play Oblivion Remastered offline on Switch 2?
For ordinary single-player sessions, the supported reading of Nintendo’s listing is yes. Nintendo identifies the software as one-player local play and lists TV, tabletop and handheld modes without describing an always-online requirement. That combination indicates that an installed copy can be played without an active internet connection.
This is an inference from Nintendo’s official feature and support pages, not a quoted Bethesda guarantee covering every account or licensing situation. A first launch of a digital purchase, a console license check or another account-specific condition could require connectivity in circumstances not described by the product listing.
What still requires the internet?
- Downloading Patch 1.0, Patch 1.1 or any later software update.
- Backing up or downloading a save through Save Data Cloud.
- Matching software versions with nearby users through Nintendo’s local-update option still requires the consoles to be together; it is not a replacement for downloading an update from Nintendo’s servers when no matching copy is available.
Once the game is installed and updated, losing Wi-Fi should not prevent a normal local, single-player session under the capabilities Nintendo lists.

- Open the HOME Menu and highlight The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
- Press + or − to open the software Options menu.
- Select Software Update.
- Choose Via the Internet.
The console checks Nintendo’s servers and installs an available update. Nintendo also supports Match Version with Local Users from the same Software Update menu, which can bring a nearby console to the same version when a matching updated copy is present.

An update prompt may appear automatically when the console is connected to the internet and you start the game. To enable background updating, open System Settings → System → Automatic Software Updates.
Confirming that Patch 1.1 is installed
The Switch software menu does not necessarily display Bethesda’s patch number in the title screen. The reliable procedure is to run Software Update → Via the Internet and allow Nintendo to report that no update is available. Bethesda’s official update record identifies Patch 1.1 by its September 17, 2026 date; the Switch menu is the place to verify whether your local installation has anything available to download.

Bethesda’s Switch 2 FAQ distinguishes delivery formats rather than offering a physical standard cartridge. Both the standard and Deluxe editions are sold digitally, while only Deluxe Edition is offered on a physical cartridge.

Nintendo lists the game at 58.7 GB. Treat that as the listed game size when checking free storage for a digital installation. A cartridge avoids the initial full digital delivery, but updates and save data still use console storage; the official listing does not state a separate required free-space figure for the physical package.

For a store search, use the exact phrase The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition Nintendo Switch 2. Check the seller, region and current availability before buying because those details can change and are not established by the patch notes.
What to do if a save will not load
- Connect the console to the internet and install the latest system software and game update through HOME → highlight the game → +/− → Software Update → Via the Internet.
- Restart the console, then try loading the save again.
- Use Nintendo’s save-data and corruption-check tools for the affected software.
- If you have a valid cloud backup, open Save Data Cloud, verify its timestamp and download it only after confirming it is newer or otherwise preferable to the local copy.
Downloading an older cloud copy can replace newer local progress, so preserve the newer local timeline before restoring anything. If the problem appeared during one of the launch-patch scenarios—quest transitions, fast travel, save overwriting or movement between Tamriel and Oblivion—updating is especially important because Patch 1.0 addressed those categories and Patch 1.1 adds further crash fixes.

Can a Switch 2 save be used on an original Switch?

Does the game support cross-platform saves with PC or consoles?
