When omnitracking.dll is missing, Windows is usually trying to start a Corel application such as PaintShop Pro, Corel Update Helper, PASMUtility, or another installed Corel component.
Before changing anything, note:
- Which program shows the error
- Whether it appears when launching PaintShop Pro, CorelDRAW, or a Corel updater
- Whether the problem began after an update, failed installation, uninstall, cleanup, or antivirus alert
- Whether the affected PaintShop Pro installation is 32-bit, 64-bit, or both
- The exact executable named in the error, if Windows displays one
The safest fix is to repair the Corel installation that requests the file. Do not download omnitracking.dll from a random DLL site or copy it into System32.

Fix 1: Repair the affected Corel installation
A damaged or incomplete installation is the most likely cause. Corel applications can contain their own copies of the library. File inventories have reported locations such as:
C:Program Files (x86)CorelCUHomnitracking.dll
C:Program Files (x86)CorelPASMUtilityomnitracking.dll
The correct path depends on the Corel product and edition.

Repair from Control Panel
- Close the Corel application and any Corel updater.
- Press
Windowsand type Control Panel. - Open Control Panel.
- Select Uninstall a program under Programs.
- Find the Corel product that fails to launch.
- Select it and click Uninstall/Change.
- Choose Repair, if the option is available.
- Follow the repair wizard.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch the same Corel application again.
A successful repair should let the application open without the missing-file message. It should also restore the library to the product’s own installation directory rather than to a Windows folder.
If more than one Corel product is installed, repair the product named by the error first. Repairing PaintShop Pro does not necessarily repair a separate Corel updater or another Corel application.
Reinstall if Repair is unavailable
If the wizard has no Repair option, or repair completes without fixing the launch error:

- Back up your Corel presets, workspaces, templates, and project files.
- Open Control Panel → Uninstall a program.
- Select the affected Corel product.
- Click Uninstall/Change and complete the removal.
- Restart Windows.
- Reinstall using the original Corel installer, your Corel account download, or licensed installation media.
- If the product came from an OEM bundle or launcher, use that same edition’s installer.
- Restart Windows again and test the application.
Do not use a generic installer when your copy came from a bundled or specially licensed edition. A mismatched installer can leave mixed Corel components behind.
Fix 2: Check whether antivirus quarantined the file
Windows Security or another antivirus product may have removed a legitimate file, particularly after an update or an incomplete installation. Check the quarantine history before attempting manual replacement.
Check Windows Security Protection History
- Open Start and select Settings.
- Select Privacy & security.
- Select Windows Security.
- Open Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections involving
omnitracking.dllor the Corel installation directory.
If the entry points to a genuine Corel installation, confirm that the surrounding application was installed from legitimate Corel media. Only then consider restoring it. Microsoft notes that restoring a quarantined item can cause Defender to detect it again unless it is deliberately allowed.
If the file came from an unknown folder, a temporary directory, an email attachment, or a DLL download site, do not restore it. Remove the suspicious copy and reinstall the Corel product from its official source instead.

After reinstalling, update your antivirus definitions and run a full scan. Do not permanently disable antivirus protection to force the installer to complete.
Fix 3: Confirm the 32-bit and 64-bit edition
PaintShop Pro can be installed as a 32-bit edition, a 64-bit edition, or both. The application’s architecture must match the library and the rest of its Corel components.
A 32-bit public metadata record lists version 13.0.0.70 and a size of approximately 0.14 MB. Other public records report different Corel and PaintShop Pro builds, including 64-bit files. These records are identification clues, not a complete compatibility list or proof of which version your installation requires.
Identify the application architecture
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Open Installed apps.
- Find PaintShop Pro or the affected Corel product.
- Use its installation options or shortcut location to distinguish the installed edition when the installer provides that information.
- Alternatively, right-click the application shortcut, choose Open file location, and inspect the product’s installed files.
Do not copy a 32-bit omnitracking.dll into a 64-bit application directory, or the reverse. Do not replace a file merely because its version number looks similar.

Repair the same edition that launches. If both editions are installed, repair each affected installation separately. A 32-bit program commonly resides under C:Program Files (x86), while 64-bit software commonly resides under C:Program Files, but the installer remains the authority for the final location.
Fix 4: Verify the file’s location and signature
The filename alone does not prove that a file is legitimate. A genuine Corel-related copy should normally be inside a Corel product or component directory, not directly in either Windows system directory.
Inspect the file
- Open File Explorer.
- Search for
omnitracking.dll. - Right-click each result and select Open file location.
- Record the complete path.
- Right-click the file and select Properties.
- Check the General and Details tabs.
- Open the Digital Signatures tab if it exists.
- Select a signature and click Details.
- Confirm that Windows reports the signature as valid before trusting the file.
A file located in C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64 is suspicious because omnitracking.dll belongs with the application that installed it. Do not delete a file from those folders blindly, but do scan the system and investigate its origin.

If the file is present in the expected Corel directory but the program still reports that it cannot load it, the message may refer to a dependency of omnitracking.dll. “The specified module could not be found” does not always mean the named DLL itself is absent. Repairing or reinstalling the complete application is safer than replacing one file.

regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide a COM registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. There is no reliable public evidence that omnitracking.dll is a self-registering COM server.
Do not routinely run:
regsvr32 omnitracking.dll
It may return an error stating that the module was loaded but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. That does not repair an ordinary application library.
Manual copying is also generally wrong. The installer determines the correct directory, version, architecture, and dependent files. Copying the library into System32, SysWOW64, or another application’s folder can create version conflicts and security problems.
Use manual replacement only when Corel Support gives you a known-good file and the exact destination for your specific product build.

Fix 6: Repair Windows components only when Windows is also damaged
omnitracking.dll is a third-party Corel file, so System File Checker is not normally expected to restore it. Use DISM and SFC when Windows has other corruption symptoms, the Corel installer will not run, or several unrelated applications are failing.
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Retry the Corel repair or reinstall.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. These commands repair Windows components, not normally the Corel copy of omnitracking.dll.

If the error appeared immediately after a Corel update, Windows change, driver installation, or failed setup, System Restore may reverse the change.
- Press
Windows + R. - Type:
rstrui.exe
- Press Enter.
- Select an appropriate restore point.
- Review the affected programs.
- Start the restore and restart Windows.
- Test the Corel application.
System Restore changes system settings, installed programs, and system files, but it does not normally remove personal files. It is not a replacement for reinstalling the Corel product, and it is useful only when a suitable restore point exists.
Windows Update is not a normal delivery mechanism for this Corel DLL. You can still check Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates if Windows itself is unstable.
If the failure follows a graphics, printer, tablet, or other device-driver change, install the correct driver from the hardware manufacturer or roll back the recent driver in Device Manager:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the relevant device category.
- Right-click the device and select Properties.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Select Roll Back Driver if available, or use Update Driver with the manufacturer’s package.
Finding the correct driver versions manually can mean checking many devices and repeating the process after each change. A copy outside the Corel installation directory deserves extra scrutiny, especially if its signature is missing or invalid.
- Open Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Scan options.
- Select Full scan.
- Click Scan now.
If you suspect active compromise, use Microsoft Defender Offline scan from the same Scan options screen. Save your work first because Windows will restart.
Do not assume that every unsigned or unfamiliar file is malware, but do not whitelist a suspicious copy merely to remove the launch error. Reinstall the affected Corel product after the scan.

If the error remains after reinstalling
Check these details before escalating:
- The exact Corel executable that fails
- Whether the repaired edition is 32-bit or 64-bit
- The complete path of every
omnitracking.dllfound - The file’s Properties and Digital Signatures information
- Windows Security Protection History
- Event Viewer → Windows Logs → Application for the launch failure
- Corel installer logs, if the setup program created them
- Whether a damaged user profile or Corel preference set causes the failure
A clean reinstall may restore the DLL but still fail if the user profile, preferences, or a dependent library is damaged. Test with another Windows user profile when practical. If only one profile fails, back up its Corel settings and rebuild the affected preferences according to the product’s support instructions.
FAQ
Is omnitracking.dll a Windows file?
No. It is associated with Corel software and should normally remain in the directory of the Corel product or component that installed it.
Which Corel product uses it?
PaintShop Pro and Corel Update Helper components are associated with the file, and other Corel products may contain separate copies. The error message alone does not reliably identify the owner, so check the calling executable and file path.
Should I install Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET?
Not as the primary fix for this filename. Install or repair a runtime only when the error explicitly names a dependency such as VCRUNTIME140.dll, MSVCP*.dll, or a .NET assembly.
Should I copy it to System32 or SysWOW64?
No. Those folders are not the normal destination for this Corel application library. Repair or reinstall the application instead.
